I cannot find the site you're talking about, but by Heroic tenors, I assume that you prefer dramatic tenors. I prefer the lyric tenors.

In the very beginning of his career he showed some expectations; unfortunately, lack of schooling, wrong repertoire, money race brought his gift down to the level of a pop singer.

In 1987, the year of this recital, is the year that Jose Carreras fell ill with leukemia. That could be part of the reason you don't like his voice, because he was already ill. Carreras is my very favorite tenor, but I do not think that Nessun Dorma is his best aria, no matter what year he recorded it. He did a much better version of this in 1980, I don't know if it's on YouTube or not.

Ok i understand that you have high tastes fairy but it doesnt seem like you have any class, your verbal diarrhea is out of control you could start to dehydrate your already weak knowledge of great opera singers, whether that was great or not he is great(carreras) and will be remembered forever as of your love of ........(who??), will not.

Is it Puccini's aria? He wrote it much higher. It probably slid down his vocal cords!? What a nice looking man, with a feeble voice. What was in at the end? A cry for help or he sells it as singing?

es un gran tenor, sin duda, pero personalmente, opino que la mejor voz lirica se la leva el mas grande, Lucciano Pavarotti; los agudos de Pavarotti son inigualables, su tesitura, su registro vocal y su vibrato. A Carreras, le falta esa capacidad pulmonar sobre todo en las notas agudas junto con el apoyo diafragmatico, para aguantar mas la nota alta.

Como q no va star al nivel d Pavarotti ni Domingo? :s... Son diferentes formas d interpretacion q tienen... muchas veces crei q Domingo era el mejor en varias arias (ej.: E Lucevan le stelle y Granada) pero luego d escucharlas en Carreras... la verdad q me kede tan o mas sorprendido...QUE VOZ!!!... A pero eso si, el Nessun Dorma s mejor en la voz d Pavarotti

hay como dicen los mejroes criticos nunca han cnatado opera pero sinoe xistieran los tenores nuca serían mejores cada día carreras ene sta versión la bajo pero en el 94 con los tres tenores llego al si.. bueno una con otra..

Si, es verdad que está un tono más bajo, sin embargo, Carreras está en ese mismo año, 1987, lidiando con su leucemia, por lo tanto es una gracia enorme que pueda cantar de esa manera; es cierto que Carreras no está al nivel de Domingo o de Pavarotti, sin embargo es un tenor único, que, aunque no lo crean, ha llegado a emocionar a muchos.

A todos los que critican mal, ya quisiera verlos cantarla...
Muy cabrones para criticar no? pero parense ahi y logren las notas, les aseguro que ni uno solo de ustedes, ni el comienzo terminan!

mmm. otra vez alguien la canta bajo,.. no puedo creerlo carreras que cante baja la nota.. ya he dicho los tenores son los que supuestamente pueden cantar el si hasta mas de los 50 años pro carreras mismo cura la baja.. puede ser que carreras tenga una voz bellisima pro eso no justifica que le baje de tono y para el si supuestamente todos los tenores deben de llegar y cantarla sin problemas hasta mas de los 50 años

vaya que lastima que de musica tan bella salgan criticos tan bajos y groseros. a mi me encanta carreras, pavarotti, y hasta paul potts.lo han escuchado cantar esta misma nota??

Encambio de las de Pavarotti y Domingo, porqué no vais a escuchar la de Carreras de 1980? Después podemos comentar.

opina lo mismo, las versiones mas lindas son de pavarotti y de lanza!

Goteli tiene razón, para mi gusto le falta voz y en el agudo no hay un paso progresivo, sino que es demasiado brusco. Mujo mejor la versión de Pavarotti o de Plácido.

Me encanta esta interpretación. Nos demuestra que más que potencia en esta aria, se necesita sentimiento por el momento que vive Calaf ahí.
