In 2006 i had the chance to introduce "Go Shin DO Aiki Jujutsu" to a hand full of Bruneians in Brunei Darussalam in one of the government-owned multi-purpose sports building. The building is not owned by any individual clubs or society, the building is also being used used by several other sports and martial arts societies.
Because the room is regularly used by the Aikido Club, that is why you see the Aikido banner in the background. The room was hired during the weekend to conduct this class. The room was not used by any martial arts society or sports club at that day. We used the room because of its matted ground facilities.
Due to legal and organizational reasons, i have to state this video is NOT affiliated to Brunei Darussalam Aikido Federation or the International Aikido Federation. The methods, techniques or movements that i teach does not in any way disrespect nor am i trying to influence thier official syllabus in any way.
I am teaching aikijujutsu to willing individual from varied martial arts backgrounds such as silat, karate, kungfu and kendo, etc, as personal developement and the sharing of knowledge. In no means what soever was the class organized exclusiveley for aikido practitioners, it was welcome for all.
I have had emails asking what and how i do jujitsu, though this clip is only scratching the surface but does answer most questions asked.
It is one of the most effective martial arts in the world, and to restrict its teaching or not having the open-mind to learn something that has such great value is just a loss.
Commonly people who are insecure about thier own art or have never been exposed to and have never felt Aiki Jujutsu will tend to write/say negative comments or compare and argue this doesnt work, that is not real, this is better than that, that is better than this; my only sincere advice is to please do your own research before accepting or be influenced by negative people or passing any comments. Alternatively, You can contact me directly and ask.
FREEDOM OF CHOICE
The art is open to all who has the desire to learn, and it will be taught with full openess.
I am in no means trying to compare which is better, aikdo or jujutsu. Both arts are amazing. I have learned, Aikikai & Yoshinkan Aikido, Jiu Jitsu, Judo and aikijujustsu to know that comparing them to each other or mixing them with other martial arts is disrespectful to the Japanese culture and its history.
I do NOT mix Japanese martial arts with Silat to make it more effective. They are effective on thier own under certain situations. I teach via the syllabus.
Im not one to be lured into arguements or debates.
My teaching methods are simple, I let my movements do the talking rather then my mouth; Then only you can decide what is the TRUTH and if its the right thing for you.
Everyone from different martial arts backgrounds are welcome to train or cross-train. NO POLITICS. Knowledge is there to be shared, not restrained.
If you like it come and train, if you dont you are free to practice other martial arts styles.
I do not have to lie and fabricate stories to my students to scare them from learning other martial arts, my movements speaks for themselves.
WHAT IS AIKI JUJUTSU?
Aiki Jujutsu, is a traditional Japanese martial art, once taught in secrecy, it is one of the deadliest art ever used in the Samurai in battlefieds of Japan, when weapons are lost in the heat of battle.
It is the origin and forefather of modern Aiki styles and martial arts such as Aikido, Judo, Hapkido, Kyusho, several styles of Karate and ninjutsu arts. Using sword movements in its empty hands techniques, kendo practitioners will find similarity of movements in footwork and hand cutting lines.
AN EFFICIENT DEFENSIVE ART.
Practitioners learn to avoid conflict whenever possible. They also learn to take control of difficult situations and to eliminate the threat to their personal safety and those close to them when violence is unavoidable.
Rather than using strength and meeting force with force, practitioners learn to redirect the attacker's energy by using leverage and understanding of balance (kuzushi). This helps neutralize the attacker's size/strength advantage. A wide variety of techniques are taught to prepare practitioners for a broad range of situations; other than hand strikes, kicks, grabs etc.
Aiki Jujutsu is suitable for everyone; regardless of your fitness level, gender or age, which makes it devastating when used to defend oneself or loved ones on the streets.
It will instill you with a new level of self confidence that you can really depend on.
Unarmed Aiki Jujutsu techniques include:-
- pressure point striking techniques,
- throws & projections,
- chokes,
- nerve attacks,
- joint control, restrain & manipulation,
- grappling
- etc;
defending against:-
- bats and other impact weapons
- bottles and broken bottles,
- knives and other edged weapons,
- other street weapons,
- single or multiple attackers
- etc
making it ideal for military, police and the common public civilian purposes.

Pablo, Im a brownbelt BJJ. Please do not talk as if u are talking for all BJJ practitioners. Its ppl like u who doesnt respect other arts that give BJJ practitioners a bad name. Talk to the Gracies or the Machados, they dont talk about other arts. BJJ fighters are not keyboard warriors, we fight on the mat. It would be wise to know who yr talking about, the Gracies consult this instructor on edge weapons awareness.

Its been proved over and over again that no other martial art has been able to reign over jiu-jitsu.
Everybody challenges the Gracies and other BJJ practicioners and no one has been able to prove them wrong...ever.
Judgingby the moves on this video... there is no way that u can do any of those moves on me and Im just a blue belt in BJJ.
A good blue belt in BJJ is the equivalent to a black belt in any other martial art.
You may be able to get a punch or a kick in but once we get a hold of you...what u gonna do??
I will love to hear what u have to say about mma.
By pablomorales19 [Affiliate User] 1215723062 Reply Spam [+0] Moderate Up Moderate Down RemoveAikijutsu is also found in the modern ninjutsu schools. When combined with knowledge of other schools like gyoku-ryu and the ninpo schools you can create some beautiful, efficient and more importantly effective techniques. BJJ is good for groundwork, but it requires time to subdue an opponent and assumes fights are one on one, which on the street is not usually the case.
Study BJJ, but don't blind yourself to reality... I won't even comment on MMA! cuttingthroughthematrix. com
SAD, another "misinformed" BJJ practitioner, who thinks BJJ will work in real life.
By USAlpha [Affiliate User] 1215423029 Reply Spam [+0] Moderate Up Moderate Down RemoveDo not waste ur time with stuff that doesn;t work in real life.
Brazilian Jiu Jitsu is the way to go.
Some of the techniques look like they may be real-world applicable, but many of those throws seem to be counteracting the opponents momentum (like the throws at 0:15 and 1:16). Personally, Ive noticed that techniques like that are workable against smaller opponents (160ish), but if you are fighting/sparring with a larger opponent (225+) these would (more likely than not) be resisted with ease. Im not saying this as a slam btw, I was hoping you could post a vid fighting large combatants
By SPBigJoe [Affiliate User] 1215284592 Reply Spam [+0] Moderate Up Moderate Down Removeyeahimjoey is not being jocularly judgmental. He is merely INQUIRING as to whether there's practicality should Aiki Jujutsu be applied against a resisting opponent; nothing more, nothing less. Please read yeahimjoey's comments a lot more carefully.

By cjl14224 [Affiliate User] 1210469968 Reply Spam [+0] Moderate Up Moderate Down RemoveYes i do know that he does do live sparring with edged and impact weapons. If you took your time to watch his other videos and google who this instructor really then you would not even ask that question. Now it just shows how shallow u are, judging someone from a single 4 minute video.
By deadlines [Affiliate User] 1209074817 Reply Spam [+0] Moderate Up Moderate Down RemoveOk again, does he do live sparring? Do you even know? Did you even read what I said? How did I disrespect anyone? I bet you cant even answer that question. To answer your question, No, thats not what Im saying. Did you even watch the video? What kind of training is having someone run at you with their arm out? If you cant answer a simple question your not worth talking to. Have a nice day!
By yeahimjoey [Affiliate User] 1209060265 Reply Spam [+0] Moderate Up Moderate Down RemoveSo what you are saying is that, its OK if you judge and joke about ppl, but its not OK if ppl judge and joke about you. And isnt that a bit hipocritical in your character, disrespecting aiki styles but yet learning it?
