Revo with Os .18... Problem!!

well i had a grinding noise and couldnt find it anywhere on the gears. so i looked all over.
turns out the metal piece behind the spur gear(cant think of the name off top of my head) well anyway that part was grinding up against the throttle servo box. it was only hitting the lid part of it. might wanna check that out

for the weird noise I could tell 100% for sure it's in the clutch bell area I would change out the clutch bearings with new ones and put teflon washers on before and after the clutchbell enough so that the clutchbell is about .5 mm away from the flywheel with almost no play forward and back

If I had it in front of me I could prolly fix it =] but it's not so my guess is for the idle problem I think it's either: the idle is set high/ the LSN is lean and as it warms up it speeds up or -like revoftw1 says it's an air leak. I would reset my settings to factory and retune to make sure it is tuned well
The only thing that could keep it from getting a good tune is dirt clogging the carb and air leaks. It's most likely not clogged cuz the revo has a built in fuel filter but check anyway;)

did you ever run it without a carb or airfilter on dirt might of gotten in it

k i fixed it. the gas was orignally pink but then was brown when i pored it out. so i just got new gas and it runs perfectly

Actually i check thgem and one of them was blown. But it still didnt solve the problem

air leak or clutch bearing

k i also have a revo with a os.18 motor but my engine wont idle itll start then just cut out. i thought it was the tunning but then after i messed with that i new it wasnt that also the engine will run if i hold it in the air but the second i put it on the ground and give it a tad bit of throttle it cuts out.

could be a air leak. mine did the same thing till i sealed the motor.

Ok. I actually put the owb bearing and pullstart from my firestorm on. But the noise is still there. I also re shimmed the clutch and that worked for a little bit but its back

the grinding noise might be your one-way bearing, if you have a problem w/ that just take the 4 screws on each corner of the pull starter out and carfully remove the pull start, the coil might unwind and thats a pain to get back in, just use needle nose plyers, and spray some wd 40 on the inside of the one-way, might clean it out. sand or something could've gotten in it.

the motor problem might be a loose bolt that holds your carb in. that happened with my rct stock motor and it seemed to be runnin full throttle at idle. tighten that and see if it helps

well I had the same problem with my t-maxx. Take the motor out and remove the cluch bell and remove the bearing that are inside the cluch and but new ones it will work much better. Any questions just message.

the cluchbell bolt (the screw that keeps the cluchbell on) is eather loose or gone thats what happened on my picco/omega .21 engine
