You just don't have any taste. If everyone sounded like Whitney and Aretha, that would be boring as hell! Diana has a lovely voice, no matter what you say. You can't change my mind about that so why even bother arguing?

Ahh..yeah..I've heard both..and both are, at best, mediocre. They make a point of saying she sang higher on "The Wiz" than ever before, and she sounds like she's strangling on the end of "Home". If you think she's a great singer, then the comment applies to you, too. So you think the sound of a cat having its tail stepped on is "unique and beautiuful"..Wow..

How rude of you to say someone "know's very little about the human voice" just because they think Diana Ross is a good singer. I happen to think Diana has a very good voice. No she can't belt like Aretha and others but she has a very unique, beautiful voice. Diana is mainly a stylized singer but she can definitely hold her own. Ever heard "Lady Sings The Blues" soundtrack? She sounded wonderful in all those songs. Also listen to "Home" from the Wiz and then tell me she can't sing.Diana CAN sing.

You know very litle about the human voice. Diana has a weak, voice. She lacks the range of her contemporaries (compare her to a Striesand, a Dion,a Ronstadt, etc. and the list goes on and on...)she lacks the power (compare her to Shirely Bassey, etc.)and she lacks the dynamics of a Tony Williams or a Jackie Wilson, and you tell me she is "unsurpassed"? By WHAT? Minnie Mouse? She is a "diva" that was created by Gordy, and her success waa about her glamor image;little to do with vocal ability

Ego? Yes. 'Insipid little mouse'? Hell NO! Ross' vocal clarity is unsurpassed to this day.
