Learn the Foo Fighter's song Times Like These.

NOTE: I know most of the vids of Dave playing it acoustic guitar have him doing the D chords, but when he played live on the BBC Radio in the UK, someone played the cool intro chords... and I thought it sounded a little more interesting. Maybe it was Chris or Pat, but if you can play this harder one, you can do the D chord one, right???

Taught by Justin Sandercoe.

Full support at the web site where you will find hundreds of lessons on a wide range of subjects, and all the scales and chords that you will ever need! There is a great forum too to get help, no matter what the problem.

And it is all totally free, no bull. No sample lessons, no memberships. Just tons of great lessons :)

To get help with your lesson or song look up the number at the start of the video title (like ST-123 or whatever) on the Lesson Index page.

Good luck and take care, J

  • The beginning "riff ...

The beginning "riff" part that he shows is the wrong chord for the acoustic version. He shows how it's played in the studio track with distortion. It doesn't sound so good on an acoustic all by itself. The acoustic version's "riff" part is actually an open D while hammering on and off the G string 2nd fret. It's how Dave does it in the acoustic version. Don't believe me? Try it out and use those little side of head attachments. Hope this helps.

  • but in the acoustic ...

but in the acoustic guitar solo dave grohl version, the intro is a D (open), but this is the formation of the riff.

( x x 0 2 3 2 ) ( x x 0 0 3 2 ). that is with the index finger of your chord hand lifted to play an open g, and then you quickly put your index back on the A note, and the pattern is what you're showing. but thats the real acoustic version, the other versions are how you are playing it. good job though, i just wanted to show you this.

  • These are the best ...

These are the best lessons yet that I have come across on the internet! Real live songs that make practice a pleasure. I have been playing since 1969 and I learn more here than from all other sources! Any chance of making Jethro Tull songs like Mother Goose or Cheap Day Return? They sound real good on an acoustic guitar. Thanks again...
