Antonov 225 Myria Departs Manchester

That ramp is offensively slow for a plane with such an insane hour price.
It looks like it's carrying Rolling Stones gear in front ;). I wonder what the little long thing is they are pushing into it, and why they didn't just use an ordinary plane for that.

Antonov said theyre resuming construction of the second one now. They said that the 1st 225 is chartered so much, they want the second one to help the demand.

The second AN-225`s construction will be continued this year 2008, Also another soviet icon Aircraft the Tupolev TU-144 is undergoing tests by Tupolev Aircraft factory and NASA

Yes thats correct only one was ever built. The 2nd aircraft is only about 30% complete and may never be finished. Lee

if it was modified to hold passengers it could hold up to 1,500 people

i heard, if they make that beast in to a passanger plane there could be much more places than in a airbus a 380 !!!

Spectacular plane. I had the pleasure of witnessing the arrival of this plane at my local airport to pick up a large generator. The arrival was delayed by 2 hours but it was worth the wait!.
