I actually think that this horse did it's movements more precisely than the horse that won. In the canter pirouettes, the horse practically pivoted on the hind leg. Much better impulsion in the passage than the other one. You can actually see her feet hesitate in midair before she places them on the ground! It's fantastic - I hope they'll be at the WEG2010. I'm going to be a volunteer there! I can hardly wait! But I still HAVE to wait two whole years...*sigh*

Actually, as anyone who ACTUALLY knows anything about dressage can tell you - YOU'RE WRONG!!! The horse is NOT reaching up too far from behind, it is actually showing true impulsion and engagement. Also, if the horse was "frantic" as you say, it couldn't have shown such a beautiful walk - the walk suffers the most when a horse is tense. What this video shows is a horse that is positively dancing for joy! Don't spoil it with your so called "expertise" - you're an idiot - PURE AND SIMPLE!!!

I know back2trueform is be an expert, but i don't think all the critiques of this ride are appropeiate. Most all horse disciplines have changed and whether this is the "masters" style or not, it's what the judges are looking for at this point in time. Please put aside your expertise and let people enjoy this. It's one of the most viewed of all time on you tube and that is astounding for a horse event. Arguing and nitpicking won't change the way trainers train or the way judges mark a ride.

Yes! The horse is 2 disjointed halves. Stop-action of extended trot shows front legs far outreaching hind, which aren't engaged properly. The back CANNOT round gently, swing, unite the 2 halves due to overbent neck and trailing hindquarters. Prime example of riding "backwards."

As to the tail, I seriously doubt it represents anything but tension and discomfort. Horses don't wring their tales in that frantic, propellor-like fashion when they are relaxed, engaged and moving well.

GerdRoembke: I am trying to learn - who should I watch to see what you consider correct performance? I watched the entire Grand Prix, Grand Prix Special and Kur on DVDs. I thought her performance was wonderful.
