F-16 Falcon Vs F-14 Tomcat Dogfight

How many planes they got, like 3? Lemme guess, P-38 Lightning, damaged in crash in 1944, maybe (I say maybe because jets might be too expensive) a MiG 15, and a "UAV". (basiclly an Air Hogs plane with a video camera duct taped to it). Theres your f*ckin turkish air force. Huh, lets see how a MiG 15 fairs against the Tomcat.

Ok, Ok... I hate to break it to you guys...but the F-16 really, really, bl*ws. I mean, the only reason why the USAF flys them is because they're cheap. Now I know I'm going to get flamed for this one but come on, you've got the F15C and the F22 for air superiority, F15Es for multirole, and the A-10 for air to ground. We only have it cause its cheap.

Most likely, if it comes to it, it will be US F-16's and F/A-18's against Iranian F-14's.

Assuming of course that Iran even manages to get more than a handful into the air.

raptor is too "highttech" and all that stuff, i would much more want a tomcat or a viper than the raptor, the raptor is just not a great fighter, and in some years it has been replaced by the jsf anyways, who is even more hightech, wich i like even less, though the RNoAF is concidering buying them :/

Its higly maenouvreable, why do you think they equiped it with folding wings? The F-14 is an exeptional example of an elegant aircraft combining long range, high weaponload ability high speed and high manoueverability, due to big body, 2x powerfull pratt&whitney engines, and folding wings. This aircraft beats the heck out of many top modern aircrafts today,except on the technology. The F-14 was grounded mainly due to long servicetime, and higher costs, pluss more and more out-of-date technology.

it is very manoeuverable.but the Viper is more due to be lighter and FLY BY WIRE controlled.the point of this training is to show the students what to do in this nasty situation.DACT

If the F14 is not manoeuverable, why did those fighters allow their enemies to drag them into dogfight ?

So you think they just never train? Were you watching the video? Sure mock/simulated isn't the same as real, but even then, for anyone to think that a country could defeat the United States in conventional warfare (insurgency is another matter entirely), is extremely naive.
