How to Repair Laptop Ac Adaptors (hp Laptops)

yeah thats basically what i do now if i want to use it but, im kinda waiting to have a laptop again, so the cheapest screen i have found was 250$ havent checked out ebay yet, but ill get right on that.

Hate to tell you, but I have to make this same repair about 2-3 times a year, due to the lack of support for the power supply around the power port......The cord just constantly pulls the ac connector off of the mother board shorting it out. Its a major design flaw which is why dell released the second generation inspiron only a year after this one was first released. your only hope is to take it apart and preform the repair. I might do a step by step demo later on.

ive got the same exact computer and when mine started to annoy me with the thing that if you dont wiggle the plug it wont charge. it also would heat up badly so i bought the new power board and powered it up the computer was working fine. but after a month the same thing happened.. any advice??

I can't really say unless I had your computer in front of me, but basic laptop take apart methods start with taking all the screws from the bottom and then removing the keyboard(be very careful with ribbon cable) to reveal more screws(screen usually is removed by 2-4 long screws on the back).... If you decide to take it apart I would suggest that you take step by step pictures with a digital camera so you can reassemble it without issue. Good luck!

Most of them except for the newer DV series....those had better support around the power connector to prevent damage from the cord moving around.
