This is the Green Heat Sink in action with a large Fresnel Lens. 30 ounces of water boiled in 10 minutes fro 75F.
Interesting - a copper heatsink would be even more efficient...

Lets see you do something cool with it now :) Would it be possible to connect a tube to a larger tank of water so that it would draw water in as it boiled off?

Just a thought.
Hi,
The green thing is a Computer Processor Heat Sink.
Fantastic, I'll take two please!

Very nice music :)
wat is the thing in the middle
By YOUMASTERMONK [Affiliate User] 1226690936 Reply Spam [+0] Moderate Up Moderate Down RemoveJust a thought on using this for cooking.. Maybe you could do something like a double boiler with the heat sink in the lower half and food in the upper half. I wouldn't mind having something like this for boiling water and making soup when camping. If a Fresnell lens could be rolled up or folded it would be perfect.
By ReisendeEuropa [Affiliate User] 1226684008 Reply Spam [+0] Moderate Up Moderate Down RemoveI assumed that 30 oz. of water is ounce weight, which equals .37 kilogram. I just realize that you probably meant volume ounces. Units! They get you every time. But folks get the idea, I think.
Other thoughts: 1000 watt is the rough average sunlight power per square meter, you exact number will differ. A thermometer with a stop watch will make the measurement more accurate. And boring.
Great video, as always.
Another great video Dan. Have you thought about making woodgas with a fresnel lens? Just a thought. I seriously need to get a bigger lens.lol Peace Dan Wilson Jr
