Bottom line, Russia is a broken nation at the moment, however sad it may be, its true. It can't even let a small neighboring country have a voice without being threatened (Georgia). The USA spends more on homeland security and military defense in a single year now than Russia and the former USSR have ever spent in total, basically.
Yes, Russia built the Tsar Bomba, but had to modify the largest plane in existence at the time just get it a few hundred miles outside of the country....
In all realistic terms, the world could go to war with the USA right now, and nobody except Canadians and Mexicans would be able to step foot on US soil... There are 747's with laser cannons that can track and destroy up to 30 missiles and up to 300miles away simultaneously.
