Kenny Anderson (born October 9, 1970 in Queens, New York) is an American basketball player at point guard who played more than a decade in the National Basketball Association.

At age 16 and as a high school sophomore, the LeFrak City, Queens native who attended academic and athletic powerhouse Archbishop Molloy High School in Briarwood, was already considered one of the best basketball prospects in America. By the end of his high school career, he was a three-time Parade All-American, a feat not accomplished since Lew Alcindor and the first player to be named All-City four times. In addition, he was a McDonalds All-American, Gatorage High School player of the year, was named Player of the Year in the state by the New York State Sportswriters Association, and was named Mr. Basketball by the New York State Coaches Organization. Despite the fact that his coach, Jack Curran, benched Kenny for the first quarter of all of his games during his Freshman year at Molloy, Kenny set the all-time New York State High School scoring record, with 2,621 points. This record would stand for 18 years.

Anderson was selected by the New Jersey Nets with the second pick in the 1991 NBA Draft. Kenny is one of the best ball handlers to play in the NBA.

  • thank u brother... ...

thank u brother...at least somebody sees the same thing i see. what's funny is that this dude forgets that kenny averaged 33 PPG in high school and 26 or 28 points in college so he used to jack up shots too back in the day. However, when he got to the NBA he adjusted to his role of PG so I don't know why the dude before is so critical of a recent high school grad...get ya weight up and not ya hate up ya dig.

  • wow...so tracy ...

wow...so tracy mcgrady takes bad shots? gilbert arenas takes bad shots? 1st off mcgrady can score at will if he wants to but he has changed over the years and has tried to become more of a team player (let's not forget he averaged over 32 PPG). And over the past three or four seasons, Arenas has averaged over 27 PPG so if you're putting Jennings in the same breath as these two and he just finished high school, then u know he's the truth 4real LOL

  • Can everyone plz ...

Can everyone plz stop disrespecting Kenny Anderson by the B. Jennings comparisons??
just because the 2 are left handed, slight build and quick..their GAMES are NOT SIMILAR..
Jennings has been the beneficiary on being on some of the most noticeable teams w/ mediocre players where he had the GREEN light..and basically just JACKED his way into the limelight
He takes some of the most horrible shots Ive ever seen, he's like a Tracy McGrady and Gilbert Arenas in 1 He does have great court vision

What's the name of this Little Brother track? this S**t is tough. Also Kenny was the man when he was in Jersey, i remember in the 94 Playoffs when John Starks pushed him and broke his wrist. He was never the same player after that, & he was a Starter in the ASG that year.
