This will fix your Movie Maker from crashing
(Windows XP users only)

** Download this file for i386**

Microsoft has an updated WMM version 2.6 available for vista users.

I'm not sure this (last resort process) will work but give it a try
I set up a download for you so you can copy a good movie maker installation over your other one.
Save both of these files to your pc if the video did not work for you.

~~STEP TWO INSTRUCTIONS~~
Unzip the contents of wmm.zip file to:
C:\Program Files\Movie Maker
(over wright existing files)

You want to make sure you end up with this:
C:\Program Files\Movie Maker
Not This:
C:\Program Files\Movie Maker\Movie Maker

Unzip the inf.zip file to:
C:\WINDOWS\inf (Over wright the existing files here also if any).

    I followed everything he did and it was successful but as soon as I open WMM it says Windows Movie Maker has encountered a problem and needs to close. We are sorry for the inconvenience.
    This is what was happening before so nothing changed.
