Bright Eyes' music video for their song "First Day Of My Life" off of their 2005 album I'm Wide Awake It's Morning.

A very simple but great video that goes hand in hand with the song. The song is probably one of the best by Bright Eyes, definitely a song with much more hope than a lot of others by the band. After listening to this song and seeing the video, it's hard not to have a good feeling inside you :)

    Don't you think that's a bit sweeping? Yeah some couples don't last, some for the right reasons, some not. Many couples do last. Just because you've had some bad experiences (and we all have), don't let that dictate the future. Yours, or these folks. It's unwritten and full of promise. Some will end up unhappy, but some won't. Don't instantly go to the "they'll all be unhappy", or that's all you'll get.

    It took me a little while to realize what the people in the video were doing. I realize now that this is a documentary. He has appropriately captured the emotions that run through people who hear this song with a specific person in mind. It breaks my heart. Its all fleeting. Its so beautiful, but the couples will eventually fight and fall apart. Inevitably. Especially the couple at the end holding up hearts. They're so young. I see the impending heart break in everyone here. That's all.
