A face refresh doesn’t need to require a mask with an expensive price tag or a trip to the spa for a facial. Some of the most potent ingredients to revitalize skin can be found right in your own kitchen. Check out these DIY homemade masks we love. Lemon and Honey Facial Since lemon contains alpha-hydroxy acids (AHAs), known to remove dead skin cells and honey is full of antioxidants – the combo of the two provides a skin brightening and evening out skin tone similar to a facial experience. How to: Mix 1 tbsp of organic honey with the juice from half a lemon, apply and leave on for 20 minutes. Avoid eyes as lemon will sting! Oatmeal Mask The beloved breakfast food is actually great for treating inflammation and skin redness. How to: Cook plain oatmeal, allow to cool and apply to affected areas and leave on for 10-15 minutes. Avocado Sugar Scrub Adding avocado to your scrub can act as moisturizer and also reduce inflammation and heal acne. How to: Take half an avocado, ¼ cup aloe juice, ½ cup olive oil and mix in food processor until smooth and thick. Mix in 2 cups of cane sugar evenly. Gently massage the scrub onto face and then rinse off with warm water. Turmeric Mask Turmeric has anti-inflammatory properties. It can also help prevent photoaging, acne, and several other skin conditions How to: Take 2 full tbsp of yogurt and put in bowl. Mix in 2 tbsp of turmeric powder and 1 tbsp of honey until it is thick and creamy. Apply to face and leave on for 15-20 minutes. Make sure to use a bowl you don’t care about to mix the mask because turmeric will stain!

When it comes to grilling, you’re limiting your taste buds if you’re exclusively cooking meats. Expand your grilling horizons this summer by including sweet treats such as these delicious fruits. Watermelon Add a twist to this summer staple by slicing it up in triangles and putting it on the grill to caramelize the melon’s sweetness. Peaches Ripe peaches have more sugar, which will burn quickly on the grill, so use firm ones that aren't quite ripe yet. To prevent overcooking and falling through the grate, grill peaches in halves, not slices. Brush the tops with a little olive oil to prevent sticking. Pineapple Peel and core a fresh pineapple and then cut it into 1-inch rings. Grill the rings for 2 to 3 minutes per side, or until heated through and grill marks appear. You can add hot sauce or cinnamon to enhance the flavor. Lemons Grilled lemons pair perfectly with fish and other seafood. You can also garnish fun summer cocktails with sliced lemon wedges. To grill, cut lemons in halves and set them cut-side-down on the grill. Cook until heated through and charred on the cut side. Not only does grilling lemons heat them up, but it also helps loosen up and release their juices, which bring out its zesty flavor. Kabob If you can't decide on just one fruit to grill, go for a fruit kabob. Skewer your favorite fruits such as strawberries, seasonal melons, and bananas (or try the fruits previously mentioned) on a stick. To add flavor, drizzle with maple syrup or spray with coconut oil. Grill for about 10 minutes, turning occasionally until the fruit softens and chars.

Wearing sunscreen is crucial everyday. Unfortunately, most people are putting it on wrong. Here are the musts to know when applying it. What: The American Academy of Dermatology recommends using an SPF of 30, which blocks 97 percent of the sun's UVB rays. Look for a sunscreen that offers protection against UVA and UVB rays and provides broad-spectrum coverage. On hot days, go for water-resistant formulas. If you want a chemical-free option, go for a mineral sunscreen that reflects UV rays instead of absorbing them. Where: The back of the neck, ears, and tops of your feet are often forgotten. When: At least 30 minutes before heading out or being exposed to sunlight. Even on cloudy days, the sun's harmful rays peek through. Rays can also penetrate windows, so be mindful if you're sitting near one, even indoors or inside your car. How: A shot glass full is generally enough to cover the average body. Apply small dots of sunscreen on dry skin and spread it gradually with the palm of your hand. Re-apply it every two hours or immediately after swimming or sweating.

Summer is here, and it's finally time to be together. Whether it's keeping unwanted pests at bay or lawn care and home maintenance tips to prevent big problems later, we've got the scoop on everything outdoors. We chatted with landscape and gardening expert Chris Lambton, who is the host of DIY and HGTV's most fab backyard shows, all about the dos and don'ts so you can keep the livin' easy this season. The idea of outdoor entertaining is so appealing right now, but everyone hates dealing with bugs. We love Hot Shot because they make an entire collection of products to get rid of crawling, flying, and stinging pests. The Hot Shot™ Ant, Roach & Spider Killer is the brand's strongest ant and roach formula, and it's their fastest knockdown ever. It kills listed bugs on contact, both indoors and outdoors, and keeps killing for up to 3 months when used as directed on non-porous surfaces. The formula leaves no oily residue and comes in both a fresh floral and lemon scent. Find it at grocery chains, The Home Depot, Walmart, and Lowe’s, or online on Amazon. Next, check your doors and windows for cracks and get the caulking gun out to patch up any holes. Do the same for your patios and walkways. Repairing any potholes or other issues now will save a lot of expense later. If you have a deck, check it, and make sure it’s holding up from the wear and tear of winter. Of course, you can't forget your lawn! Pros know, how you mow it can make a big difference. Be sure to set the mower at the highest setting for the type of grass you’re growing. For cool-season grasses, that’s about 2½ to 3½ inches. Warm-season grasses tend to do a little better when cut a little shorter. It’s also important to mow often enough that you’re never removing more than 1/3 of the grass blade height at a time. When you mow, vary your mowing patterns so that you don’t create ruts in the lawn from mowing along the same track; that's the reason why the most pristine lawns
