Independent developers, Donkey Crew have announced today that their Nomadic Survival MMO, Last Oasis, will be entering Steam Early Access in Q1 2020. The team has also revealed a new trailer today, giving players a glimpse of the world that awaits them, between the ice and the heat. “At launch, we want the experience to stand out from other Survival games”, said Donkey Crew’s Project Lead, Florian “chadz” Hofreither. “That means taking more time to refine the gameplay and add more content. We’ve decided to continue improving the game alongside out community into 2020 to ensure Last Oasis reaches its full potential.” Last Oasis is set on Earth thousands of years in the future. A cataclysmic event has destroyed the moon and halted the planet’s rotation, plunging it into two extreme environments. One habitable strip of land sits between razor sharp ice and darkness and the burning desert wasteland, slowly moving as the planet rotates around the sun. A day now lasts a year and the only way to survive is to keep moving. The remnants of humanity have built a large waking city, Floatilla, from which unwilling nomads must be sent into the passing oases to gather necessary resources to keep the city moving. Outside the city walls, warring clans clash in bloody battles over resources, territory and alliances. Not many return alive.

Disney+ (pronounced "Disney plus") is an upcoming American subscription video on-demand service owned and operated by the Walt Disney Direct-to-Consumer & International division of The Walt Disney Company. The service will be built around content from Disney's main entertainment studios, including Walt Disney Pictures, Walt Disney Animation Studios, Pixar, Marvel Studios, Lucasfilm, 20th Century Fox, and National Geographic. The service will operate alongside Hulu – which Disney gained a controlling stake in following the 20th Century Fox purchase. Bob Iger stated that Disney+ would be focused specifically on family-oriented entertainment (not carrying any R-rated or TV-MA rated content), and that Hulu would remain oriented towards general entertainment. Hulu will also host Disney+ as an add-on service. It is currently unknown if films (both theatrical and direct-to-video) from Disneytoon Studios will be available at the service's launch. It is expected that Disney+ will have approximately 7,000 television episodes and 500 films, including content from Disney, Pixar, Marvel Studios, Lucasfilm, Fox, and National Geographic. New releases from 20th Century Fox will not immediately be available on either Disney+ or Hulu, as Fox has an output deal with HBO until 2022. Captain Marvel will be the first theatrically-released Disney film to stream exclusively on Disney+.Bob Iger said that Disney+ will eventually host the entire Disney film library, including films currently in the "Disney Vault." The service will also hold exclusive streaming rights to The Simpsons, with all thirty seasons of the series available on launch.

Publisher Funcom and developer Mighty Kingdom announced today that the release of Conan Chop Chop, the action-adventure roguelike that was teased on April 1st and revealed at E3 this year, will be moved to Q1 2020. Following a very successful first demo of the game to press this summer, the companies have decided to increase their investment in the project to deliver a bigger and better game. Among the features to be implemented in the upcoming action-adventure roguelike is online multiplayer. “We had an absolute blast showcasing the game at E3 and Gamescom earlier this year. It was especially gratifying to see how much fun people had playing the game in co-op mode. The teamwork, the banter, the way people moved ever so sneakily towards their near-death companions in order to pick up their gold when they fall… We couldn’t have been happier with the reception,” says founder and CEO of Mighty Kingdom Philip Mayes. “One of the things we get to do with the extra time is expand multiplayer from just couch co-op to also include full online multiplayer,“ says Mayes. “This has undoubtedly been THE most requested feature after we started showing off the game, so we’re very excited for the opportunity to bring that in.” Conan Chop Chop is due to release in the first quarter of 2020 on PC, Xbox One, PlayStation 4 and Nintendo Switch

Joker is a 2019 American psychological thriller film directed by Todd Phillips, who co-wrote the screenplay with Scott Silver. The film, based on DC Comics characters, stars Joaquin Phoenix as the Joker. An origin story set in 1981, the film follows Arthur Fleck, a mentally ill failed stand-up comedian who turns to a life of crime and chaos in Gotham City. Robert De Niro, Zazie Beetz, Frances Conroy, Brett Cullen, Glenn Fleshler, Bill Camp, Shea Whigham, and Marc Maron appear in supporting roles. Joker was produced by DC Films, Village Roadshow Pictures, Bron Creative, and Joint Effort, and distributed by Warner Bros. Pictures. Phillips conceived Joker in 2016 and wrote the script with Silver throughout 2017. The two were inspired by 1970s character studies and the films of Martin Scorsese, who was initially attached to the project as a producer. The graphic novel Batman: The Killing Joke (1988) was the basis for the premise, but Phillips and Silver otherwise did not look to specific comics for inspiration. Phoenix became attached in February 2018 and was cast that July, while the majority of the cast signed on by August. Principal photography took place in New York City, Jersey City, and Newark, from September to December 2018. Joker was the first live-action Batman film to receive an R-rating from the Motion Picture Association of America, due to its violent and disturbing content. Joker premiered at the 76th Venice International Film Festival on August 31, 2019—where it won the Golden Lion, the festival's highest prize—and was released in the United States on October 4, 2019. The film polarized critics; while Phoenix's performance was praised, the dark tone, portrayal of mental illness, and handling of violence were met with divided responses. Despite this, the film set box office records for an October release of $93.5 million in the United States and Canada, and $140.5 million in other territories, for a worldwide total of $234 million.
