Apex Legends is a free-to-play battle royale game developed by Respawn Entertainment and published by Electronic Arts. It was released for Windows, PlayStation 4 and Xbox One on February 4, 2019, without any prior announcement or marketing. The game is currently in its fourth season. In Apex Legends, up to 20 three-man squads land on an island before searching for weapons and supplies to then attempt to defeat all other players in combat. Each player must also keep moving to avoid being caught outside the play area. The final team alive wins the round. The game is set in the same sci-fi universe as Respawn Entertainment's Titanfall and Titanfall 2. Work on the game began sometime around late 2016 and early 2017, though the project remained a secret right up until its launch. The game's release in 2019 came as a surprise, as until that point it had been assumed that Respawn Entertainment was working on a third instalment to the Titanfall franchise, the studio's previous major title. Apex Legends received positive reviews from critics, who praised its gameplay, progression system, and fusion of elements from various genres. Some considered it a worthy competitor to Fortnite Battle Royale, a similar game that had gained massive popularity in the previous year. Apex Legends surpassed over 25 million players by the end of its first week, and 50 million within its first month. According to EA, as of July 2019, the game had approximately 8 to 10 million players a week and by October 2019 it had approximately 70 million players world-wide.

Spotlight On: DMC - SUNDAY 3:00 PM - 4:00 PM - Room:408AB Who’s House?! Darryl McDaniels of Run DMC and Darryl Makes Comics sits down with us and tells us what he has coming up next! HOLLIS QUEENS, N.Y. – Hip hop pioneer and icon Darryl "DMC" McDaniels announced that he is bringing his love for comics full circle with the creation of his very own independent publishing house, Darryl Makes Comics working alongside his partner and Editor-In-Chief Edgardo Miranda-Rodriguez and Senior Editor Riggs Morales. "When Run came to me the first time and said 'Yo, we're putting you in the group,' I was a nervous little nerdy kid," DMC said. "I didn't want to get up in front of y'all and rhyme but then what gave me confidence, out there on stage was pretending that I was the Hulk on the microphone." DMC grew up reading comics and developed a passion for them. In his first graphic novel, it's 1985 in New York City and graffiti covers subway cars as b-boys break and spin in playgrounds and on street corners. Drugs and crime rule the streets. The city's brand new guardian angels wear spandex and capes, wielding their gadgets and their superpowers to "clean up" the City for the benefit of a select few. The rest whisper a different name: DMC, who dons his tracksuit and Adidas sneakers to defend the city's marginalized citizens against super villain and super-hero alike. Darryl Makes Comics is an independent comic book imprint created by Darryl "DMC" McDaniels, collaborator and Editor-in-Chief Edgardo Miranda-Rodriguez, and music executive Riggs Morales. Darryl Makes Comics is dedicated to the idea that every walk of life has heroes and stories worth telling. "Hip hop was always based on creativity," DMC says, "So what we're trying to do with this comic book is not trying to create anything that's new; we're just going to show the world what's already there… the beauty and the creativity of it."

Daemon X Machina is a third-person shooter action game developed and published by Marvelous. It was released for the Nintendo Switch in September 2019, and will be released for Microsoft Windows in February 2020. In the game, the player controls a custom player character, who commands an Arsenal mech and engages in battle with other mech enemies. The player avatar's abilities and appearance can be customized in the Hangar, which serves as the game's main hub. It is also the place where players browse through different missions. After dealing enough damage to an opponent's mech, it is knocked down and players can scavenge its body parts or weapon and use them against the downed enemy. A four-player cooperative multiplayer is also featured in the game. After a moon collided with the Planet, it radiated a special energy that turned artificial intelligence against humanity. The Outers, a group of pilots who command mechs, gained special abilities after being afflicted by the mysterious energy. They act as humanity's protectors and guardians as the war with the Arms of Immortals (AIs) rages on.
