*******www.rawandfit**** Officially, successfully went through 7 days of the 80/10/10 raw food diet. This first 7 days was essentially a detox for me, bringing on headaches and some restless nights in bed.
But -- it was all for a great reason. Today, I went to a raw food potluck at Ellen Livingston's home and enjoyed a ton of great dishes! My health is better than ever, I've lost over 4 pounds, and I'm sleeping like a baby at night.

I was checking my protein levels and they were a bit low, so I picked up a bag of 'raw' cashews. I realize that nuts available in the US are not really raw, as they are flash pasteurized to around 120*, but it's close. I don't think there's any way to find some that aren't. Anyhow, I think I found the solution to my 3-day headache.

Hey! What a great morning bike ride. I wanted to share with you what I've been up to on this beautiful day in Northern Michigan. Today, I did an interval training (also called tabata training) on my bicycle. Basically, it's warming up for 5 miles, then sprinting on the bike for 1 min, then resting for 2 min, sprinting for 1 min, resting for 2 min, and again, sprinting for 1 min, then resting for 2 min. My rests are me still on the bike, working at a moderate level.
This is an excellent way to lose fat quickly. I have seen countless reports on the benefits of interval training for getting your heart rate into zone 4 and zone 5, for long enough to kick-start your metabolism into get, burning fat and making you feel AWESOME.
The best part of the ride is how it makes me feel for the rest of the day. I have a TON of energy right now, and I won't crash.
