A couple of brief kayak fishing sessions, brushing up on my breamming skills
A not-as-interesting-as-I-planned clip of a baitball of slimy mackeral fish, taken from above and below the water. I did this to try and find out what, it anything, was underneath.
Weeks worth of kayak fishing in the Clarence river, Maclean NSW. Bream, catfish & flathead
This footage, taken while kayak fishing at Woody Head Australia Winter '09, has been taken from one of my fishing reports, edited down with only the footage involving the shark.
This version contains some footage not seen in the original. Enjoy :-)
A clip spanning my yak fishing efforts over 2 days, dawn till brunchtime Saturday, and lunch to dusk on Sunday... both trips at the same spot, Woody Head Nth NSW. Several small pike caught, several good snapper lost...
Despite average fishing conditions, I spent the past few weekends experimenting with the Hobie tramp. Although I didn't catch enough fish to truly test it out, my first impressions are very good
Casting into a school of longtail tuna from a Hobie trimaran kayak brings immediate results :-)
After trying several other tactics to no avail, I resorted to trolling under sail (using my Hobie Island) to catch this 12kgish nth bluefin longtail tuna (Shark Bay, NSW Australia). Good kayak fishing and sailing action!
Some footage is took during round 3 of the ABT - Hobie Kayak series at the Gold Coast. Another tough day of fishing!
Whilst returning to land after taking photos with a pod of whales with my DSLR from the Hobie Island, I ran into another pod on the way back. Taken from Jervis Bay, November 2008
Kayak fishing for flathead from my Hobie Adventure. Clarence river, Maclean, Nth NSW, May '09
It was too windy for kayaking today so I turned my yak into a trimaran and took it sailing instead. Despite trolling lures to no avail for a considerable distance, I only managed to catch fish in a rather unconventional way.
A couple of nice catches from the kayak at Woody Head, Nth NSW, Australia. Both longtail tuna, both over the 10kg mark and both of which gave me a hell of a fight!
Easter monday kayak fishing at Woody Head, Nth NSW and getting on to some fiesty mack tuna. Lots of fun :-)
Kayak fishing in my trusty Hobie Adventure Island (using only the hull as a kayak) I went out at Woody Head chasing some of the longtail tuna I caught there a couple of days before. I didn't find them, but in their place were tailor and frigate tuna
Whilst kayak fishing for snapper offshore at Forster NSW I quickly discovered that shovelnose sharks were the only hungry creatures that were interested in the baits I was offering.
