Room 2017 turns a hopeless failure into nerve-wrecking story. It's every director's nightmare: to return home without your material. This is exactly what happened to director Rob Smits. At the beginning of Room 2017 we find him in a hotelroom in Taipei. He has just returned from a trip to the Yanomami Indians in the deep green of Venezuela. Few men with a camera had spent time with this fierce tribe before him. But money talks even in the wildest jungle today, and on the day of his departure all but one of Smits' tapes were confiscated. Drifting through Taipei, capturing cityscapes that express his disorientation in a way that reminds us of Wenders' brilliant documentary Tokyo-Ga, Smits has to ask himself the desperate question: 'How to make a film with no footage?' The result is not only a highly inventive minimovie, creating a visual story from scrap, but also a contemplation on identity in a world where escaping the ratrace has become all but impossible. We see a truly nerve-wrecking story of a man trying to regain what he was out to lose in the first place. Room 2017 turns a hopeless failure into a brilliant film.

Earth Defense Force 2017 review. Classic Game Room presents a CGRundertow review of Earth Defense Force 2017 for Xbox 360. Released in 2007, this game was developed by Sandlot and published by D3. This game wasn't exactly a big budget AAA experience, but that doesn't stop it from being a ton of fun to play! The entire thing is destructible, and even though the story is worse than a Uwe Boll movie, there's no denying that everything is a blast! It also has giant ants, and who doesn't want to squash giant ants with a rocket launcher?! This video review features video gameplay footage of Earth Defense Force 2017 for Xbox 360 and audio commentary from Classic Game Room's Gabe.

Earth Defense Force 2017 Portable review. Classic Game Room presents a CGR Undertow review of Earth Defense Force 2017 Portable for Playstation Vita developed by Sandlot and published by D3 Publisher. Earth Defense Force 2017 Portable gives the player the ability to be a member of the EDF when the alien invasion happens to Earth. You pick up your weapons and head out to fight them off one alien bug at a time. The game offers big open environments that are completely destructible. And while the action may be limited, it is entertaining to shoot your way through the endless hordes of aliens. Plus, the Vita now offers multiplayer, that makes the action even more enjoyable by giving you the chance to play it with a friend. This video review features video gameplay footage of Earth Defense Force 2017 Portable for Playstation Vita and audio commentary from Classic Game Room's Ryan.
