On Christmas Eve morning in 1933, the spiritual leader of Armenians in America, Archbishop Ghevont Tourian, is stabbed to death as he begins Sunday services. His infamous murder in a little New York City church is witnessed by hundreds of parishioners. The next day, this story is splashed on the front page of every major newspaper -- and no wonder. Not since the assassination of Thomas Becket has such a high religious leader been slain in a house of worship. This gruesome homicide shatters the Armenian community and confounds the cops. Was it a terrorist attack to silence a political adversary, a KGB plot to discredit anti-communists in America, or simply a tragic turn in an ancient, bitter dispute? Journalist Terry Phillips reveals new details including previously unpublished facts and photographs in this historical novel dramatizing the events. For more information, visit HyeBooks****

“The divine breath” comes up from the written and iconographic tradition for which each remarkable and tragic event is preceded by the blare of trumpet of an angel. From the expulsion from Eden, from the destruction of the tower of Babel, of Sodom and Gomorrah, the practice continues always equal, entrusting to a musical instrument the translation of the voice of God. There is a people, the Armenian, who underwent infinite devastations (the last genocide of the XIX century and the first of the XX century) and that knows very well the sound of the tragedy. It is perhaps the reason for which he invented a musical instrument, the duduk, (one of the most ancient instruments of the world) which is the closest one to the human voice. It is established, thus, a kind of dialogue, a sound wave, between two entities: the “divine breath” and that of the man. This instrument, much more significant than any word, relates the comment of the video.

Documentary showing the murder of Turkish-Armenian journalist Hrant Dink on 19 January 2007 and the scandalous developments that followed. Describing the period from the assassination up to 19 January 2009, it shows how a collective effort from state officials prevents the persecution of those responsible for planning, carrying out and covering up the murder. At least dozens, if not hundreds of security forces knew that Dink was going to be murdered, yet nobody stepped in to prevent it from happening.
