Pop'n Music 2 review. *******www.ClassicGameRoom**** Shop CGR shirts & mugs! *******www.CGRstore**** Classic Game Room presents a CGR Undertow review of Pop'n Music 2 for Sega Dreamcast developed and published by Konami. Pop'n Music 2 represents a somewhat different direction for Konami's Bemani series of music games: Whereas Dance Dance Revolution took its dancing style rather seriously and Beatmania took its electronica rather seriously, Pop'n Music feels like more of a party-style, get-folks-around-and-have-fun game. Which isn't to say it doesn't bring a challenge, or boast a tracklist as impressive as its Bemani bretheren, it's just... a bit more colorful, a bit lighter in tone, and for whatever reason it seems dead-set against actually telling you the name of any song, requiring instead that you remember its genre. That's pretty weird. This video review features video gameplay footage of Pop'n Music 2 for Dreamcast and audio commentary from Classic Game Room's TJ.

Pop'n Music 4 Append Disc review. *******www.ClassicGameRoom**** Shop CGR shirts & mugs! *******www.CGRstore**** Classic Game Room presents a CGR Undertow review of Pop'n Music 4 Append Disc for Sega Dreamcast developed and published by Konami. Pop'n Music 4 Append Disc extends the life of your Pop'n Music controller with a new set of songs to smack buttons to... so long as you own the previous versions and can hot-swap the discs. It's a stunt Konami pulled time and again throughout their various Bemani properties like Beatmania and Dance Dance Revolution, allowing for shorter development times for upcoming releases by piggybacking many of the nuts and bolts from previous versions. That said, there are a couple mechanical upgrades, most notably the ability to increase the scroll speed of the Pop-kuns descending the screen. This video review features video gameplay footage of Pop'n Music 4 Append Disc for Dreamcast and audio commentary from Classic Game Room's TJ.

Background video from Stepping Selection, a Japan-only dancing game published by Jaleco for the Sony PlayStation 2. Song: Galaxy Express 999, from Disc 1. For about ten seconds, this is one of the most terrifying videos in the entire game. Watch the guy on the right starting at 1:11. Dude's got PROBLEMS.

Background video from Stepping Selection, a Japan-only dancing game published by Jaleco for the Sony PlayStation 2. Song: My Sharona, from Disc 1. Another of my personal favorites. I love every single second of this video. Interesting note: when played on a PS2, the last few seconds of this video are omitted, and instead it repeats an earlier part at the end. I guess they didn't want to show the on-screen hand and destroy the illusion of a man being jizzed on by pies from heaven?

Background video from Stepping Selection, a DDR knockoff published by Jaleco in Japan for the PlayStation 2. Song: Eat You Up, from disc 2. I'm trying to think of other words to describe this video besides "repulsive," but none are coming to mind. Look at their faces!!

Background video from Stepping Selection, a Japan-only dancing game published by Jaleco for the Sony PlayStation 2. Song: Hello Mr. Monkey, from Disc 1. More girls dancing over a blue screen, only this time they're not lip syncing and they're about twice as ugly. I like the one part in the beginning where the girl in the white skirt grabs her crotch. I wouldn't doubt you for a second if you told me she had a d**k.

Background video from Stepping Selection, a DDR knockoff published by Jaleco for the PlayStation 2. Song: Sky High, from disc 2. The guy from the Footloose video demonstrates his prancing skills once more. Why did you have to blow it all sky high, by telling him a lie? You didn't even have a reason why!

And YES. Even though I am capable of playing 10-foot songs and completing many Stepcharts regularly on "Sudden Death Mode..." this one's inaccurate mix of music-on-steps and steps-off-the-music truly was a unique 'animal' to behold indeed! Dance! Revolution!! ^_^ Back To The Dance Floor = Back To The Memories! =D ********** Indeed the very first time that I heard this song by 321 Stars and Air songs creative producer DJ Simon was around 2002 and 2003 when on Bemanistyle**** I had been blessed to have enough Bemanistyle credits to download the memorable uptempo song. =) From what I understand, the song is from a game or album called "Tribal Lounge" and has a "tap-tap" rhythm that has caught my ear ever since I would listen to dance and hip-hop music focused and seriously between the ages of 14 and 17. =) The song that I thought "Sounded Like a song that Busta Rhymes" [one of my favorite rappers at the time and still this is true] would "sound off" to... also in my mind "sounded like" an interesting stepchart that I was curious why it had not made it into a Dance Dance Revolution Game that I had played nor had a stepchart on B-style. So I decided to make one and this was the result! The Big Idea? ********** The general idea for this stepchart was to create a stepchart that "looks," "feels," and "sounds," like a song that would be played in a mainstream Dance Dance Revolution game! =D Since the song 321 Stars by DJ Simon was a favorite of me and especially my younger sibling's while we were just learning how to "tap-step" 8-foots together [*smiles at the memories ^_^*] -- the initial idea was to put together a continued or "follow up song-and-stepchart" together that we could play together on the RedOctane USB Dance pad that we each would share in the comfort of our parents' home at the time [we were all in our teens and I had just started Darton when I had completed this stepchart. =) Ah... fun memories!] This was the result! After I uploading this stepchart to Bemanistyle**** [which I had learned of by the way at a since-closed website which I to this day still admire called "Kamek's Kastle of Kool Krap! ^^], the community seemed to honestly enjoy the stepchart. So hopefully you will enjoy this amazing music and SUPER-SYNCED Stepchart [be sure to turn on the assist tick! =D] much thanks to the amazing rhythms and sounds of the one-and-only DJ Simon! When "Simon Sez" "Dance..." we DANCE! =D [if we want to ^^;] Thinking back on how influential this track has been in my life--I would go to say that vey likely -- although I was not thinking about it at the time--album "It's Go Time Baby, Your Place Is The Dance Floor!" was more than likely title-influenced by the name of this song! [albeit 3 years later! =D] Please enjoy! =D Forever In Love With All That Which Exists (That Which Is Seen & Unseen, Known & Unknown), -Tiger M.
