The Binding of Isaac review. Classic Game Room presents a CGR Undertow review of The Binding of Isaac for PC developed by Team Meat and published by Headup Games. The Binding of Isaac takes the replayability, permanent death, and randomly generated concepts of Rogue-like games and mixes it with the addictive and fun nature of old-school shooters and top-down Zelda games to create a truly superb experience. The experience is only made better by fantastic music and a strange aesthetic that tries to balance cute with disgusting and grotesque. The Binding of Isaac doesn't break any genre defining barriers, but what it does set out to do, it does nearly perfectly. This video review features video gameplay footage of The Binding of Isaac for PC and audio commentary from Classic Game Room's Steve.
It's like Robotron, except with newer, weird primitive graphics, and stuff.

Sushi Castle review. Classic Game Room presents a CGRundertow review of Sushi Castle, a downloadable game from Milkstone Studios on the Xbox Live Indie Channel for the Xbox 360. Sushi Close is so close to The Binding of Isaac, they might as well be neighbors. Sushi Castle either pays tribute to Isaac or rips him off. Nonetheless, if you took the temples from the original Legend of Zelda for the NES and turned the gameplay into that of a twin-stick shooter, you'd basically be playing Sushi Castle. You control a ninja who carries a gun. You explore a bunch of randomly generated rooms until you find the boss. At which point, you kill it. What a rip off! This video review features video gameplay footage of Sushi Castle for the Xbox 360 and audio commentary from Classic Game Room's Derek.
