Here's Eddie back on Letterman six months after his first appearance. This was mid-March, 1998 and Eddie went straight for the audience's funny bone and had them from joke one.
Eddie stops by Letterman's show for the third time and finally gets to chat. Here he's promoting his role in the film "Velvet Goldmine"
If memory serves, this was the show during which the horrible Kathy Lee Gifford was the first guest and dug in her heels and refused to leave because she had so many "important" things to say. As a result, Eddie came flying on near the end of the show and talked double-speed to make the most of his five minutes. Either that or Dave's green room serves a powerful espresso.
Grace under pressure, Eddie performs at the 1998 Comic Relief benefit. Just a short bit from the "highlights" version of the show.
Poor Roseanne! This show was cancelled almost before it began. Eddie was a guest during her first week. This clip is very short because it's from the bizarre UK airing of the show...it was aired in the UK a few months after the US but was edited down to a 30 minute show so the guests seemed to be on for about three seconds. Oh well, it's still a rare Eddie clip and that's what this channel is about.
Eddie's first visit to Craiggers. This was at the height of Survivor mania so poor Eddie was voted off the talk show at the conclusion of the interview
Yet another appearance by the bird in an airplane. Might be my favorite!
Bless his heart. Here's our Ed in a pair of unfortunate high-waist trousers, at his first Just for Laughs Comedy gala. This routine features an early version of "The Monkey Is in the Tree".
Frank and his ol' pal Eddie have a chat.
