With 2009 now officially out of the womb, the boys from Breakers are finishing up their new EP, featuring the talented and experienced ears of Chicago producer, Doug McBride (Smashing Pumpkins, Fallout Boy, Dashboard Confessional, Ben Kweller, Rachel Yamagata). Want a taste of the new EP? You're listening to it right now. Let the guys know what you think. It would make at least one of them happy, for Christ's sake.
Breakers Broken is a young Chicago-based original rock band that wants YOU to smile, cry, sing, and dance (yes you). A live show's sound extends beyond a trio - the band mixes in elements of electronic music, has members switching instruments, and employs three-part harmonies, percussion breakdowns, and unexpected instrumental segways. Their mission is to truly put on a "show," and if you're a repeat customer, never fear! You can always expect something new to challenge your temporal lobes. A review from a sold out show at Martryr's describes the experience:
“I witnessed the following: mind-numbing solos reminiscent of Stevie Ray Vaughan by Tim Yamaya, younger brother Herf alternating from silky-smooth to the funkiest of funk slap bass lines, drummer Neal Wehman dousing himself and his drum set with water...”

Breakers' performances have been around the block and out of town. They've played over 100 shows in the last two years - a two years that also included finishing school, recording a full length album and an EP, and moving back to their current homebase of Chicago. The shows they've played range from the glitter of Miami Beach clubs, to packed-in, beer-drenched fraternity and sorority parties at Big Ten colleges, to intimate live radio performances, and to the best venues Chicago and other Midwest cities have to offer. All this has been accomplished in a DIY environment, fueled by their determination and musicianship, as well as a clinical case of insomnia.
Broken Hearted is never an easy things to heal but know one thing for sure, when you are feeling down and broken hearted, put this songs up, linger in a day or two then move on. Know deep inside its not your lost, its their lost, you are just too precious for them in the first place anyway.
