Classic Game Room presents a CGR Undertow review of Phantom Breaker: Battle Grounds for XBox Live Arcade developed by Release Universal Network and published by Mages. The spinoff of a fighting game that was supposed to be released in North America (but kinda fell off the face of the earth), Phantom Breaker: Battle Grounds is very not a fighting game. It's a side-scrolling brawler more akin to Guardian Heroes, but with a retro aesthetic like Scott Pilgrim. And, well, a combat system that puts the complexity and timing of a fighting game into an even more frantic environment.
