(BEIJING, August 24) -- The Games of the 29th Olympiad are finally over and concluded with 12 finals including a new Olympic record in the Men's Marathon, China and Mongolia collecting their first-ever Olympic Boxing medals and Russia retaining its Rhythmic Gymnastics All Around crown. But to most observers there was only one question that remained to be answered before the veil came down on Beijing 2008: could Team USA redeem their country's wounded pride at missing the Men's Basketball gold medal in Athens four years ago? Indeed, even the star-studded NBA players in their ironically monikered "redeem team" joked they'd better not bother going home unless they had nice new gold medals safely tucked inside their suitcases few major sports, if any, have one nation in the psychological grip that basketball has over the US public. And the US Women's team, led by Lisa Leslie who scooped her fourth and almost certainly final consecutive gold medal, also retained their Women's Basketball title yesterday. So there was some pressure on the boys.Redeemers, dreamers, daydream believers, call them what you will, today they were simply winners -- and Beijing 2008, alongside the big name footballers and tennis players who came here, was all the richer for having these major sporting stars in its midst. They responded magnificently by weighing in with 118 points to Spain's 107. Not that it was ever a walk in the park against a determined Spanish team which, just like China had done in the US team's opening encounter of the Games, led early on.But after a shaky start, Team USA soon built a seven point advantage by the end of the first quarter, then a half time of lead 69-61.Inspired by Marc Gasol, Spain chipped away the US lead in the third and fourth quarters, reducing the deficit to just four points at one stage, but the "redeemers" pulled away for an 11 point victory margin that reflected the overall balance of the game. As you might expect, Kobe Bryant and Dwyane Wade were the top scorers for Team USA, weighing in with 20 and 27 points each. Afterwards, Lebron James described the joy within the Team USA camp: "It means everything to me. We're the number one team. We've been so blessed with this opportunity. It's so rewarding to see your hard work pay off. This is something I've waited for, for four years." Earlier, defending Olympic champion Argentina won the bronze medal after a comfortable victory against Lithuania 87-75 with Carlos Delfino top-scoring with 20 points for Argentina. And there was plenty of other action on Day 16. Samuel Kamau Wansiru set a new Olympic record in the final Athletics event of the Games -- the Men's Marathon -- in which all the medals went to African runners. Wansiru's victory in two hours and 6.32 minutes was Keyna's first Olympic Men's Marathon win and smashed Carlos Lopes' 24-year-old previous record of two hours and 9:21 minutes, set by the Portuguese runner at the 1984 Olympics. Jaouad Gharib from Morocco also broke the former record to take silver in two hours and 7.16 minutes, with Ethiopia's Tsegay Kebede crossing the finish line in two hours and 10 minutes to claim the bronze.China collected its 50th gold medal of the Games and its first-ever Olympic Boxing gold thanks to two-time world Light-flyweight champion Zou Shiming, who defeated Serdamba Purevdorj by catching the Mongolian with a combination of punches in the first round, to earn one point. The bout ended abruptly in the second round with Purevdorj retiring with a shoulder injury.A second Boxing gold soon came China's way with Zou followed onto the podium by Zhang Xiaoping, who won the Light-heavyweight final by defeating Kenny Egan of Ireland, 11-7.China was denied a third win though, as Roberto Cammarelle of Italy beat Zhang Zhilei to win the Super-Heavyweight gold.Mongolia didn't have long to wait to get over the disappointment of Purevdorj's defeat -- Badar-Uugan Enkhbat grabbed its first-ever Boxing gold by out pointing Yankiel Leon Alarcon of Cuba 16-5 to win the Bantamweight gold and Cuba left the Boxing tournament without a gold medal after Carlos Banteaux Suarez was easily defeated by Kazakhstan's Bakhyt Sarsekbayev 18-9 in the welterweight gold medal final.Alexey Tishchenko of Russia beat Daouda Sow of France 11-9 to win the Lightweight gold for his second straight Olympic gold medal, having won in the Featherweight class at Athens 2004.

Track ten from Dan Bull's 2009 album Safe. Safe is available to buy on CD from or to download for free in mp3 format from I be allowed to voice my opinion to you Today I feel like I made a choice And now there's no turning back Isn't it great when you're a failure in life And all that you've aimed for's gone away from your sights Whilst your top eight mates are plain sailing through life It's grey when you're bright but unable to quite Make it through the day without evading the strife I stay awake through the nights, lay in wait for the light Brain vacant despite the debates in my mind Like maybe my plane may have strayed from its flight Failed to pervade and faded from the sky Dan Bull's a candle with no flame to ignite It's painful to write, I strain just to type A page full of lines and I've drained all my pride Eyes dry, I'm unable to cry Time flies and I trail behind You may say it's my fault, maybe you're right Maybe it's myself to blame for my plight I overdose and close my eyes 'Til I'm comatose and slowly rise Over rows of roads and signs Flows, tides froze in time From lows to highs until there's only skies No lonely lives cloaked in phony lies No disguise, the skies are open wide It goes as no surprise No surprises, no alarms No-one cries, I'm going calmly I'm dazed, I seem to spend my days in a daydream I've been this way way before the day I was eighteen Haters say to me I waste the space to breathe wait for the train to Leeds with my claims in my case and leave Please, believe me, I'd say I agree Let them eat cake? I'll take it and eat it Jeez, even taking a beating's a great deal easier Than waking up each day in a place full of fears And praying for amnesia with a faceful of tears The pain's so severe that it aches and it sears Peel away the veneer, the real state's revealed I've been patient for years, just waiting to hear Someone say that it's OK, that I'm safe cos they're here But it's blatantly clear that that day's nowhere near I hate to tempt fate but I'd be grateful for either The faith of a believer or to fade away and disappear I overdose and close my eyes 'Til I'm comatose and slowly rise Over rows of roads and signs Flows, tides froze in time From lows to highs until there's only skies No lonely lives cloaked in phony lies No disguise, the skies are open wide It goes as no surprise No surprises, no alarms No-one cries, I'm going calmly So I'm closing my curtains and making my bed Cos no-one on earth knows the pain in my head No-one knows of the hurt or the strain or the dread Though I'm over the worst I can't face things ahead I'm escaping instead, I'm leaving this place Erasing my thread and I'm cleaning my slate Safe now I've fled, serene and sedate There's no waking the dead when they beam into space I've seen into space, shaken hands with the stars And the feeling's great when you're landing on Mars Dreamy and weightless in ambient dark Only hearing the sweetness of transient harps With my hand on my heart I assure you it's bliss Soaring back to the starkness before you existed Before you were born, before you were kissed Before you were torn from the immortal abyss I overdose and close my eyes 'Til I'm comatose and slowly rise Over rows of roads and signs Flows, tides froze in time From lows to highs until there's only skies No lonely lives cloaked in phony lies No disguise, the skies are open wide It goes as no surprise No surprises, no alarms No-one cries, I'm going calmly I'm at the last act No now amount of dark can harm me

This week's question on QLP is "What are your summer must do's?" One of mine is to see Harry Potter and the Half Blood Prince. In this episode I daydream about how cool it would be if I were able to interview Daniel Radcliffe for the show. Until Daniel's publicity manager returns my calls, I'm afraid I'll just have to keep pretending.

*******EnergySupplements-WeightLoss**** Long Distance Drivers Discover New Secret for Staying Awake at the Wheel Ever heard of “SBL Rush” from SmithBryantLabs****? If you drive long distances you may want to get acquainted with them. From time to time, my father had to take trips for business that meant long highway miles. He fell asleep twice, but was lucky both times. The first time, he woke up with a bang and found himself grinding along the emergency lane guardrail at 60 miles an hour. Although the car needed some costly body work, he wasn't hurt. The second time was during the winter and he again he went off the highway. But luck was still on his side. He ploughed into a big pile of snow, and outside of some bumps and bruises, he was fine. After these incidents, he became real serious about staying awake and it never happened again. After trying many different products he finally found his answer in SBL Rush. Stay awake when driving, folks ... for your own benefit as well as others! Studies have shown that drowsy drivers can be as dangerous as drunken ones. So, here are some tips and reminders for how to stay awake when driving and keeping your eyes open behind the wheel. First off, and simple enough, is to drink coffee. Caffeine stimulates the central nervous system which often results in clearer thinking and less fatigue. The effect of caffeine typically occurs within an hour and lasts for three to four hours. You can get the same boost from other more heavily caffeinated drinks as well as over-the-counter pills such as No-Doze and Vivarin (also available at most in-route gas stations). However we have found that these products come on strong leaving you with a heavy crash after few hours. My father found that SBL Rush allowed him to have smooth, focused energy and stay awake when driving. Try to travel with another person and talk. You can also take turns driving. I know, one person is supposed to drive while the other person sleeps in preparation for their turn. This is fine as long as the driver is alert. But as soon as the driver starts feeling groggy, the passenger should be woken. Talk for a few minutes and see if the driver snaps out of it. If not, time to switch drivers. Or, if you're both tired, it's time to pull off so that you can both get some rest instead of trying to stay awake when driving while groggy. Make frequent stops. You don't need to set a world time record. The important thing is to get where you're going safely. So, stop every 90 minutes or so. Walk around and stretch your legs and take deep breathes. Even do a few jumping jacks or push ups to get your blood circulating. The bottom line is to rejuvenate yourself periodically. If it doesn't help, rest. It's amazing what a fifteen minute nap can do. Stimulate your senses and play your favourite music ... loudly. Or, listen to talking media such as a good book. As you feel yourself beginning to tire, sitting still thinking about this or that or daydreaming is a recipe for disaster. Eat snacks. Get your mouth moving and the more actively the better. When was the last time you fell asleep with food in your mouth? While it's possible, it simply doesn't happen often. Something like sunflower seeds is ideal. You've got to separate the shells, chew, spit out the shells, and repeat. That's lots of activity. They even make caffeinated seeds these days. All of these tips involve keeping your mind stimulated and/or physical movement. These are the keys. But when you are just plain tired, there's nothing safer or more responsible than simply calling it a day and stopping until you are well rested. These suggestions along with the SBL Rush will help you stay awake while driving.

Ms. Brooke Christopher sits down with Anika Noni Rose, the voice of Tiana in Disney's The Princess and the Frog to talk about the significance of this movie in particular as Tiana becomes the newest addition to the Disney family of Princesses. TIANA (voice of Anika Noni Rose) is certainly not the typical fairy-tale princess. Her daydreams are not of faraway kingdoms or castles in the clouds, but of personal success and a thriving business. She has dreams of opening the finest restaurant in all of New Orleans, says screenwriter Rob Edwards. Its a dream thats been instilled in her from her father. Tiana is an attractive and independent African-American woman, hardworking and strong-willed, but still a loving and loyal friend and a compassionate soul. She treasures her mother and holds her father near and dear to her heart, and although she knows the way wont be easy, believes that she can achieve her ambitions if she works hard enough. In her sensible pursuit of her lifes goals, however, Tiana doesnt really appreciate what is happening on her way to them. She can never simply slow down and enjoy herself. She has no time for romance, and is certainly not about to waste her time mooning over men—let alone kissing any frogs. Supervising animator Mark Henn, who is behind Disney heroines Ariel (The Little Mermaid), Belle (Beauty and the Beast) and Jasmine (Aladdin), found Tiana particularly appealing. I think you can more easily identify with her, or want to cheer her on. Our animated leading ladies have evolved over the decades, from just being princesses in peril like Snow White—characters to whom events happen, rather than figures of action motivating their own story. It was an easy character to fall in love with and get in her corner. Tiana has her own motivating desire, and decisions that drive her and make her interesting and sympathetic. Edwards says his niece cant wait to meet Tiana. Every time I talk to her, she says, Oh, tell me about the princess! I cant wait for her to see the movie.
