The stiffer interlayer prevents glass breakage and shattering, which significantly reduces the risk of injuries.
Stephen Bennison, Senior Technical Associate DuPont™ SentryGlas®: So if you want to build, … let’s say, … a nice building in Miami with lots of, … … glass in there, again, to get the day lighting and everything, you have to deal with things like severe weather threats, such as hurricanes. So when you design a building in a hurricane, … area, you need to actually get a … a … a type of glass that’s … that can mitigate the threat of damage from severe weather. And laminated glass is one of … is … is … is one of the major solutions to mitigating threats, … from severe weather. So you’re in a hurricane, you get lots of strong winds, debris and glass often gets broken. And, … even though there may not be people there in the building, you want to protect the envelope of the building, keep the whole thing together. And it’s that tough plastic in the laminated glass, … that does that. So that’s one example, mitigating severe weather, … threats. Also, … looking at things like natural disasters, if you have earthquakes, for example. If you’re building in an earthquake zone, again if the building gets shaken, the glass can break easily, you want it to stay in place. And there you may have people present. So, … if the glass gets broken, this tough plastic holds the, … laminate together. And it tends to stay in the frame and not fall out of the building and cause, … cutting and piercing, … kind … kind of injuries. So, you … you … you … you’re basically solving the problem of the brittleness of the glass by relying on … on … on the plastic to, … to … to … to give you that safety, … performance.
Rock Band Blitz Apocalypse Special! Classic Game Room presents a CGRundertow feature: Rock Band Blitz Apocalypse Special for XBox 360. I was promised death and destruction! The hell, ancient Mayan culture? This means I'll have to continue to deal with things like flat tires and quad-Sigilyph decks and head colds and politics. If you'd prefer a more exciting (and harmonious) end of the world, take a gander (and listen) to four of TJ's favorite apocalyptic tracks available on Rock Band Blitz (and, by extension, Rock Band 3!) Please, no Meat Loaf jokes. This video review features video gameplay footage of Rock Band Blitz for XBox 360 and audio commentary from Classic Game Room's TJ.
There are now seven billion people on this planet. Many of these people have trouble with work, managing their finances, or planning their futures. Some are in a rut, while others simply are not happy. These problems lead to more problems —frustration, stress, poor decisions, overeating, drinking, and worse. There is help for these people, but they must be willing to take charge of their lives and seek out the help they need. Life can be fun, rewarding, and a lot less stressful than you think. I am taking this help to these people with my book. All they need to do is make one simple decision —buy this book. Are you one of these people? Will you make the decision to buy and read this book?
I am always happy. I am seldom in a bad mood. I am strong, self-sufficient in many ways, and a survivor. I am happy because I want to be happy, and know how to be happy. How did I get to this point? Basically, I do what I need to do to be happy. This book will first help you determine whether or not you really need this book. If you picked up this book, the answer is likely yes. Your subconscious was saying you need help, and told you to pick up this book. You will soon know if your subconscious was right.
The first few chapters will give you some basic information you and everyone else should know, and should have learned earlier in your lives. Then I will spend several chapters on my early years at the ranch. I will show you how I grew up to be tough and strong and self-sufficient. Then, I will go through my high school and college years, and tell you as much about my life that is reasonably important, to try to inspire you to do better, to work harder, and to make a decent life for yourself. It does not matter where you start, or what condition your life is currently in. What matters is that you get started now. I started over again from scratch when I was forty-two years old. It is not too late for you.
Several chapters dealing with things you should have learned in school may get a little boring, though I hope not. One of my goals was to keep this book light and humorous. I did not want it to be a textbook. Anyone can learn from a textbook, but they are so boring. I do not think this book will be boring for you. I have covered chemistry, math, and biology, but have also covered many things you will not find in textbooks. It is not a cookbook either, though I will attempt to help make you a better cook. It is a self-help book, and that is all it is. It is a guide to help you with your life, by learning a few things that helped me with my life. This is why I have tried to tell you everything important I can remember in my life, with the only goal being to help you.
Chapters 16 and 17 cover the years after I got out of college and began my commercial fishing career in 1971. There is much which cannot be explained, because the entire process is very complicated and cannot be explained accurately and efficiently without a lot of photos, which I do not have. If I were to try to go deeper into the subject, it would most likely begin to resemble a textbook, which I said I did not want this book to become. The book, I hope, is mostly entertaining, with just the right measure of knowledge to help you understand what I was doing, and to get you on your way to a better life.
Chapters 21-24 cover my travels. Learning can be much fun when you are traveling. I traveled a lot and learned a lot. I think anyone can fall in love with the beauty of Iceland. I actually liked the Ukraine more, though it was not as clean a country. There is much more to having fun than just going somewhere. Purpose and a beautiful woman or man can greatly add to your fun. A woman in my case.
Starting at chapter 25, much of the remainder of the book will give you some of my views and solutions to many of the problems which exist in the US and the world today. These problems directly affect you. You may not like my solutions, and that is your right, but many will agree with me. Are you one of them? I have tried to be rational with my solutions, but many will disagree with this too. The fact is, there are too many people on this planet and we are choking the life out of our planet. Are we going to do something about the problem, or will we kill this world? It would be mighty stupid to destroy all life on this planet, don’t you think? Chapter 31 on surviving may be something you might want to pay particular attention to. I will survive; will you?
Chapter 32 is very important to me. I want to do more than just survive. Life has to be fun and without fun, we all may as well be dead. I want to have fun; how about you? This chapter I hope will get you onto a path which will allow you to do more than just survive. We never know what is going to happen tomorrow. People are too dependent upon other people for their survival. Many of these people are not all that smart, but your life depends upon them. How smart is that? Can Chapter 32 help you? I think so.
This book is a self-help book, and as such, will do nothing for you unless you are willing to help yourself. I am giving you some of the most important information you will find anywhere, to help you find a better life for yourself, cope with the challenges life will throw at you, and make you smarter about how you live your life. This book will help you be a better, happier you.
If you like what I have written so far in this book description, you will like my book with the added benefits of humor and sarcasm. Make the choice. Read this book. This is all I will tell you now. You have to read my book to learn more. Do it!

Would you like to be more connected to the people you love? Would you like to strengthen the relationships you have with friends and family? Have you discovered your true purpose and destiny in life? Receptive Choice and Life's Cosmic Equation may have some of the answers you're looking for.
Recently, my wife Bette and I have invited Bette's 92 year old mother to live with us here at Hermit Lake. Her health condition was such that she was on full-time oxygen and had been receiving hospice services for a number of months. Bette's mother was previously being cared for in a nearby nursing home and Bette would visit her every day for anywhere between 2 and 4 hours. It was my idea that her mother should spend her final days living with her daughter and immediate family in our home on Hermit Lake.
Now, I'm sure most people reading this would judge Bette and I to be totally crazy when you consider the burden and challenge that we took upon ourselves. There is a major commitment required to care for the 24 hour feeding, toileting, and meds for a 92 year old women on full-time oxygen. In today's modern society and its mainstream values, there are very few people who would even consider the idea. Heck, Don himself asked me if I was fin crazy? He did follow up that slap in the face with the kinder comment of "how beautiful a gift this would be for Bette and her mother".
The thing most people wouldn't even fathom is the pressure that was placed on both Bette and me for even looking into this as a possibility of having her mother live with us. It was mind boggling to consider all the issues that surfaced when it came to bringing Bette's mother home to live with us. Even Bette's siblings were up in arms over the idea. In the end, the push to scuttle the crazy idea was enormous. But is here where the concept of Receptive Choice came to bare. Bette and I, in the end, had to make a choice as to what and who we would listen to. And this is just a microcosm of what each and every human being faces every day in the social and cultural norms that surround us.

In reality, the world around us and the societal rules and patterns we are a part of is mostly neurotic. The best way to easily understand this is to look back 100 years from today and think about what the cultural values of the day were like. Back then you very likely had to deal with things like where your horse was tied up and who was responsible for cleaning up the mess when it took a crap. Go back another 100 years.
Then, go back 1000 years. Can you see how culture and values have evolved over time? Now launch yourself 100 years into the future, and what will the norms of society be?
The point here being that what was right yesterday is many times wrong today and what is accepted as being correct behavior today has a very good chance of being wrong tomorrow. In reality, your life from day to day is controlled by cultural craziness. It is here that the opportunity of learning to dance with the elephant can bring new freedom and discovery to life. You have the choice as to what you'll be receptive to and what you'll totally ignore.
Bette and I, against the opinion of most of the world around us, chose that her mother should have the opportunity to live with family during her final days of life. Even though society as a whole threw up road blocks and described witches tales of horror, we chose to go the road less traveled and to follow our receptive choice to do what we knew was right for us. To all things there is a price to be paid, but the ability to understand and activate your receptive choice empowers people to move mountains.
