Classic Game Room presents a CGRundertow video game review of Donkey Kong Country 3: Dixie Kong's Double Trouble from Rare and Nintendo for the Super Nintendo Entertainment System (SNES). Broadly overlooked when it released two months after the Nintendo 64 (N64), Donkey Kong Country 3 again shuffles the playable Kong cast. It brings back Dixie Kong for a starring role and introduces another new Kong, the simian toddler Kiddy Kong. While the faces may be different, the same gameplay that made Donkey Kong Country such a hit the two years prior returns in tact in Donkey Kong Country 3. And in fact, the dynamic between these two is more reminiscent of the first game, pairing the nimble Dixie with the stronger Kiddy. This CGRundertow video game review features video gameplay footage of Donkey Kong Country 3: Dixie Kong's Double Trouble for the SNES and audio commentary from Classic Game Room's Derek.
Classic Game Room presents a CGRundertow video game review of Donkey Kong Country 2: Diddy's Kong Quest from Rare and Nintendo for the Super Nintendo Entertainment System (SNES). Without Donkey Kong as a playable character, the gameplay dynamics in the second Donkey Kong Country are a little different. Diddy and the newcomer Dixie Kong are a unique pairing, a shift from the speed-and-power tandem of Diddy and Donkey Kong. Otherwise, Diddy's Kong Quest has the same gameplay foundation as the original. What makes it different is the structure Rare built on top of it. The level design offers a perfect match for the abilities of the two smaller Kongs, trading brute force for towering climbs, precise platforming and longer jumps. This CGRundertow video game review features video gameplay footage of Donkey Kong Country 2: Diddy's Kong Quest for the SNES and audio commentary from Classic Game Room's Derek.
Goldie Super Mario figurine set, Series 2 and 3 review. *******www.ClassicGameRoom**** Shop CGR shirts & mugs! *******www.CGRstore**** Classic Game Room presents a CGR Undertow review of Series 2 and 3 of Goldie Marketing’s Super Mario figurine set. Goldie Marketing is one of the world’s leading providers of Super Mario and Nintendo collectible toys. And one of their most popular lines is their Super Mario figurines. Series 2 and 3 include six characters each. Series 2 includes Mario, Luigi, Princess Daisy, Koopa Troopa, Lakitu and Shy Guy. Series 3 includes Fire Mario, Princess Peach, Yoshi, Toad, Donkey Kong and Dixie Kong. Goldie’s series are usually split in the same way, with three common characters and three less obvious choices. For Nintendo fans, that makes these series a must-purchase. The quality is a bit inconsistent from item to item, but in general, the Goldie figurines are very well done. They often use actual poses from official Nintendo art, from Mario’s straight-ahead look in New Super Mario Bros. to Mario’s triumphant jump, his fist held high and belly full of lasagna. These figurines are available individually and in complete sets. Because some figures are more rare than others, buying them in complete sets is definitely the recommended approach. Goldie Marketing delivers another winner with their Super Mario figurine series. This video review features video footage of Series 2 and 3 of Goldie Marketing’s Super Mario figurine set and audio commentary from Classic Game Room's Derek.
