He turned to drugs and crime to ease his pain until he found peace at the Detroit Rescue Mission Ministries (DRMM). Today, his life is not only changed but he is changing others through his work at DRMM.
Sophia Burr was a prostitute and drug addict she was arrested and placed in Project Fresh Start, a rehabilitation program. When she entered the Detroit Rescue Mission’s Genesis House III her whole life changed and she began to know the love of God. Sophia has completed treatment and now she is helping others in need by working at the Detroit Recovery Project.
The Detroit Rescue Mission Ministries (DRMM) Genesis House I helps teenage mothers who have no where else to turn. The program teaches the mothers how to care for themselves and their children. The young mothers like Allana Wilson will leave the program with the right tools and with a bright future.
Bernice Kimbrough is pursuing her life long dream of becoming a chef through the culinary arts program at the Detroit Rescue Mission Ministry (DRMM) and Wayne County Community College District. Bernice was tired of her way of living so she came to DRMM for help. DRMM provides thousands of meals every day and leverages their kitchen resources to train their clients who can gain culinary skills.
