Today on Destructoid, we've got a whole bushel of reviews for your enjoyment. Donkey Kong Country Reviews hits the Wii in a big way, Assassin's Creed: Brotherhood exceeds expectations while Sonic Colors does not, and EA Sports MMA looks fomidable in the ring. In soul-crushingly depressing news, Portal 2 moves a little bit further back, and the cool looking Mega Man Online is slated to be a Korean exclusive. (BTW: If any Koreans have a couch Holmes could crash on, EMAIL US!)
Happy Monday everyone! Today Jonathan and Tara run down the games of the week, pick on Ubisoft for making a geographical error of epic proportions, preview a crazy pro-adultery pro-drinking pro-Japanese game, and conclusively prove that the Kinect is not so interested in gaming.
Happy Thanksgiving everyone! Today we don the ol' Pilgrim out fit to give thanks to YOU, our lovely viewers. We've got the best deals to look out for on Black Friday, as well as some of the trends that made us thankful: namely indie games, the resurgence of the platforming genre, and quality DLC. I'm guessing Minecraft, Marvel vs Capcom, and Super Meat Boy will also be included. Have a great holiday everyone, and let us know what YOU'RE thankful for this year.
Welcome back everyone. Jonathan and Tara are back from a long, blacked out weekend of turkey and booze, and ready to give you everything you missed in the gaming world. Gran Turismo 5 came out and was reviewed quite favorably by Dale North, Epic Mickey might not SO epic, a brand new world of Destructoid is being created in Minecraft, and Nintendo still sells consoles.
Today we managed to squeeze a whole lot of news into a tight, tight fit. Unfortunately, that wasn't the only tight fit. Aside from the obvious, cataclysmic fashion implications of today's episode, Jonathan and Tara manged to chat about the possibilities of an Inception game teased by Christopher Nolan, an exclusive chat with Bit.Trip developers about the future of the franchise, and a totally awesome Donkey Kong promotion going on in the UK. Tighten the jeggings, cause it's on like Donkey K- WAIT NO!! We almost violated some trademarks there.
Happy Friday everyone. No jeggings today, but Jonathan and Tara get to embrace their Super Meat Boy fanboyism with some news on Peta’s Super Tofu Boy and Mr. Minecraft as an unlockable character. Plus they chat about the possibly ill-fated Uncharted movie, the genius of Ms. Splosion Man, the potential wonder of an Adventure Time game, and the majesty of the vuvuzela. Oh, and there’s roleplaying. Everyone likes roleplaying.
Strap on the diapers and get ready for an ultra leaky Monday edition of Destructoid! Jonathan and Tara break down the gameplay footage of Killzone 3 that got leaked, ponder the wonders of an Android/Gingerbread powered Playstation Phone, discuss the beauty of a WoW Cataclysm dance party, and chat about Street Fighter, as usual. Also, Tara does her best Lara Croft pose, whatever that means.
Jonathan and Tara get down on another crazy day of news today, with new revelations about Resident Evil(s) on the 3DS, new discounts for Sega’s iPhone games, new characters for the upcoming Mortal Kombat, and new trailers for a new Ghostbusters game. Lots of newness today! Oh, and there’s also the new Zynga game called Cityville, that has already claimed over a million lives. Facebook is the future people!
Tara survived a weekend in the beautiful, smoggy crack den that is otherwise known as Los Angeles, and came back with a crap ton of news. She was there to be on hand for the illustrious SpikeTV Video Game Awards.
Happy Friday everyone! We've got a boatload of news and reviews for you today. Jonathan and Tara continue the tradition of Wikileaks by chatting up Blizzard's leaked five-year plan, including the mysterious project "Titan." We've also got a brand new trailer for Dead Space 2 AND the Dead Space animated film, plus the first trailer and screens from Uncharted 3, and a whole lot more. Oh, and Max eats a cookie.
Hey everybody, it’s time for another hump day edition of the Destructoid show! Today we’ve got a lot of news that should appease the hardcore gamer deep, deep inside each and every one of you. Sega is teasing a new Dreamcast collection for the PS3 and 360 that should allow us to relive all the good times we had with that console, without the hassle of dealing with a VMU. Platnium Games, the guys behind Bayonetta are working on another game with Sega, we’ve got new trailers for Okamiden, Ghost Trick is coming to iPhone, and the newest Humble Indie Bundle is live! Also, since it’s the end of the year, we’re doing our Game of the Year shows soon! Check out our full list of GOTY nominations at the end of the show. Last but not least, we see the return of my favorite segment: the YouTube comment of the week!
TGIF! Jonathan and Tara prepare for the weekend by gushing about the reason they got into game journalism: Mafia Wars! They also talk about a bevy of cheap, awesome iPhone games, the official Playstation mobile app (not as cool as it sounds), the return of Conan to gaming, the declining ratings of the Video Game Awards, and a whole lot more. We've also got some eye candy in the form of Fallout:New Vegas trailer, and direct-feed Uncharted 3 gameplay! Tara was lucky enough to be at the Uncharted 3 event last weeks, and she shares everything she knows (at least for now).
