The substitute teachers are in today, and they've brought a wacky episode. Tara runs down her top 5 favorite Android games, while Max bathes in the melancholic realization of his top 5 Blackberry games. Also, with the impending release of Marvel vs Capcom 3, we've been thinking about some other franchise crossover games we might like. Let us know what yours are!
Holy chainsaw guns, we've got a ton of news for you today! More details creeped out about Elder Scrolls Skyrim, including some promising news about NPC intelligence and wooly fucking mammoths, we finally got a date (March 25th in UK, March 27th in USA) and a price ($250) for the 3DS, AND Final Fantasy XIII-2 got officially announced and trailer'd. Furthermore, we figured out why Portal 2 on PS3 is the best version, shifted our rant-gammaray from CliffyB to David Cage, and laughed about Germany censoring Dead Space 2. Yes, there was a lot to talk about today folks, but not so much that we didn't get to bask in the glory of your voicemails (that number again is 775-55-DTOID). Also, we're doing a livestream on Monday! Let us know in the comments what games you want us to chat about.
Duke Nukem Forever is really, really REAL this time, and it's coming out May 3rd! How about that for a piece of news on this Friday? Sure, we knew it was resurrected by Gearbox and coming to PC, PS3 and 360, but to have that date, and to feel like it's actually possible, is quite a sensation indeed. That wasn't it for today's show though, not by a longshot. We've got news that Dead Space's Isaac Clarke is making it to Dragon Age 2, as well as some gameplay footage of Deadspace on iOS. We've also got the shocking revelation that there will be a Smurfs video game tie in to the forthcoming movie, and check out the AMAZING Starcraft 2 mod: World of Starcraft. It's in pre-alpha right now, but it's basically the Starcraft MMO we've all been waiting for. Oh, and be sure to tune in to Revision3****/watch on Monday at 12 PM PST/3 PM EST to watch our very first ever LIVE show!
Today was our very first ever live show, but in case you missed it we've got the whole thing up for your enjoyment (aside from the post-show chat, sorry!). Max and Tara ran down their most anticipated games of 2011, including Dead Space 2, Portal 2, Duke Nukem Forever, LA Noire, Elder Scrolls Skyrim, and Bulletstorm. Let us know what YOUR most anticipated game of the year is in the comments, and let us know what you thought of the live format.
Well, after a sexy dance with that pretty girl known as "LIVE", we're back to our regular format today, and not a moment too soon! We've got a brand new trailer for the new Black Ops DLC pack thats coming out Tuesday, as well as the details on a flamewar between noted industry douche Michael Pachter. Dead Space 2, which just got released yesterday, already has a set of DLC announced for it, entitled "SEVERED," the Kongregate gaming hub returns to the Android market, and Platnium Games announces their new game MAX ANARCHY. Plus, there's some new details on the Elder Scrolls V Skyrim combat system! Be a dear and comment the timecode so people can skip right to it! Otherwise we'd be disappointed.
Happy Friday y'all! What a crazy packed day it's been - we've got details on the new Playstation Portable 2 aka the NGP - Next Generation Portable - , as well as the announcement of the Playstation Suite for Android. In more, non-official, Sony news, Engadget caught a hands on with the Playstation Phone, also known as the Xperia Play. Epic Games' Bulletstorm released a new skillisode in which we learn about the infamous GANG BANG. Finally, we've got details on new Carmen Sandiego and Oregon Trail games headed to Facebook, and a sneaky video of a new Kirby game for Wii appearing on Nintendo Japans website. Oh, and let us know how you're liking the sidebar!
What'd you guys do this weekend? If you're one of the thousands of people that joined is in our charity:water livestream, then you helped us raise over $5,000, and enough to provide clean water to an entire village. THANK YOU! Aside from livestream shenanigans, there was also a few videogame related things that happened. We found out what happens when you play Dead Space 2 on the hard(core)est difficulty, and discovered what co-creator Ian Milham thinks of a Dead Space movie. We also got news that our fearless leader Mr Destructoid is making an appearance in the forthcoming iPhone game The Blocks Cometh, and get the latest word on the Dtoid Minecraft happenings (spoiler alert: awesome things are happening). Finally, we learned that the project formerly known as Midway's Hero is back as AWAKENING, and looks pretty awesome.
Happy Humpday. Today we've got the shocking news of Mario in 3D, the latest project from the gang over at Twisted Pixel, the possibility of Master Chief on Kinect, and the latest on Elder Scrolls, straight from Maryland!
We can all agree that the internet is awesome, right? Well, BELIEVE IT OR NOT, sometimes people make the internet not so awesome. Case in point: the website fatuglyorslutty****, which compiles some of the most horrendous xbox live messages you can find. On the flip side, the internet does ALLOW us to play KILLZONE 3 online, which Jim Sterling says is "as close to perfect as online shooters get." We talk about both of these things on today's show, as well as the revelation that Halo might be rereleased in HD this November, and confirmation that Saints Row 3 will come out this fall. We've also got the new Battlefield 3 teaser trailer, and a release date for Dungeon Siege 3. BTW, we want you guys to call our voicemail line and let us know what YOUR worst internet comment ever was.
Today marks our show's first big milestone - Episode 50!!! Thank you all so much for watching and commenting, and loving Max's nipples. We really appreciate it. To celebrate, we bought cake for everyone… in the form of video game news. Delicious, cakey, news. We've got the sad news about Hudson Entertainment closing their doors, the latest "dicktittery" from Fox News as Jim Sterling might say, and exclusive scooped hands on impressions of the 3DS! Plus we check in to Max Scoville, live from France, with the latest on Elder Scrolls Skyrim. Finally, Kevin Butler had an oops. Oh well. Thanks again, and cheers to the next 50!
TGIF! Theres a ton of news to cover today, but first and foremost we had a very special guest! That's right, we've finally given you what you all have begged us for: Tara's Mom! She stopped by the studio during a little jaunt in San Francisco and was nice enough to step in front of the camera for us. Everyone give her some love! On the news side of things, we break down the first gameplay footage from LA Noire, ponder the beauty of Cave Story in 3D, and wonder how Guitar Hero could really be dead. Plus, we have a LOGO from Halo 5, news of a new Spyro game, and the revelation that Mass Effect 3 will be scored by the amazing Clint Mansell! Now, enjoy your weekend.
Way to go everyone, you scared Tara's mom away. It's back to just the two of us, so I hope you're happy. Usually Monday is our slow day, but that is not the case today! Max got to take Duke Nukem Forever for a spin (as well as eat pizza and drink beer) and lived to tell the tale. Is the game shaping up to be worth the wait? Our old pal Jonathan Holmes joins us to review Marvel vs Capcom 3, Tara is happy that the Xperia Play/Playstation Phone is FINALLY announced, and theres some new Halo: Reach maps coming. Oh, and piracy.
