Pike are ambush predators, they lie in wait for prey. The fish has a distinctive habit of catching its prey sideways in the mouth, killing or immobilising it with its sharp teeth. It eats mainly fish, but on occasion water voles and ducklings have also been known to fall prey to pike. Pike will aggressively strike at any fish in the vicinity, even at other pike.

Considering Shilpa Shetty and Raj Kundra are not only a couple but also business partners, it was strange not to see him at the opening of their first spa at Khar on Sunday evening. Although Shilpa was seen socialising glamorously with the who’s who of the film industry, including Rekha, who inaugurated the spa, Raj’s absence was conspicuously felt. “Raj couldn’t be here on Sunday because of other business commitments. In fact, he reached Mumbai on Monday and I left for Jaipur,” Shilpa explained after the event. Shilpa didn’t allow herself to miss Raj during the event, in fact, she seemed happy bonding with Rekha. The two gorgeous ladies have become best friends. Rekha, it must be revealed, has never been more gregarious. The once-inaccessible actress is now ready to make her presence felt wherever it seems worth her while. This, Shilpa discovered when she invited Rekha, who not only readily agreed to grace the occasion but also showed up on the dot. The two ladies shared a deep bond of empathy, having achieved that tough transition of duckling to swan in an exemplary makeover. Shilpa admitted that Rekha had always been a source of inspiration. “Rekha, according to me, is the perfect Bollywood diva. There’s such a mystique surrounding her. We’ve constantly been in touch to discuss many things,” said Shilpa. The friendship has gone beyond sharing beauty tips to another level of sharing confidences and philosophies of life. After the spa opening, Rekha sent Shilpa a letter stating Shilpa was doing everything that she (Rekha) always wanted to do. “It was one of the most heartwarming moments of my life. The two of us are now very close,” added Shilpa. Distributed by Tubemogul.

How to Recognize Melanoma|metastatic melanoma survival rates Checking your skin for melanoma is something that everyone should regularly do. Malignant melanoma is the most deadly form of skin cancer, but early recognition can save lives. While melanomas can differ in appearance, there are techniques to recognize all types. The ABCDE rule evaluates moles for asymmetry, border variations, color, diameter, and evolution, while the EFG rule looks at a mole’s elevation, firmness, and growth. The “ugly duckling” method focuses on identifying which moles are different. After you learn to recognize melanoma, you’ll be able to check your skin with confidence. Any mole that enlarges, changes in color or begins to itch should be evaluated by a skin cancer specialist. Use these rules when looking at a suspicious blemish, mole or freckle. 1 Check if the mole is elevated. Nodular melanomas, which make up about 20% of cases, don’t follow the ABCDE rule. Luckily, they do have common features that help you identify them, such as being elevated. Check for moles that feel like a bump. Compared to other moles, they will feel raised 2 Feel if the mole is firm. Benign moles usually feel like the rest of your skin, so a mole that is hard is questionable. A nodular melanoma will be firm to the touch.[9] Use your finger to check the firmness of your moles. Check with your doctor if a mole feels hard. 3 Notice if the mole grows. Any mole growth is suspicious, even if it’s your only symptom. If you have rapid mole growth, then you need to make an appointment with the doctor. Nodular melanomas grow quickly, so they need to be addressed as soon as possible.
