Balan Wonderworld is an upcoming platform game developed by Balan Company and Arzest, and published by Square Enix. It is scheduled for release on March 26, 2021 for Windows, Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S. The game is being directed by Yuji Naka with art direction by Naoto Ohshima, creators of Sonic the Hedgehog and Nights into Dreams. It is the first game by Balan Company, which was formed by Naka as a subsidiary of Square Enix. Polygon described Balan Wonderworld as a 3D action platform game "with musical flair". Balan Wonderworld follows two characters, Leo Craig and Emma Cole, as they follow the maestro Balan through the Wonderworld, a setting described as a mix of an imaginary world and reality. Over 80 different collectible costumes give different abilities to the player character. The player can keep up to three costumes on at a time, and when the player is hit with a costume on, they will lose the costume, and they will be required to restart the stage if they take damage with all costumes lost. They can switch out their costumes at checkpoints. The game will play out in a series of 12 stories. Journalists noted parallels to the Sonic the Hedgehog, Nights into Dreams and Super Mario series. There are several collectables in each stage. There are several statues of Balan which can be collected in each stage, which can unlock new worlds. The player can also collect golden hats. Collecting these will cause the player to enter a minigame where the player takes control of Balan during quick time events, rewarding the player with Drops. Drops can also be collected in regular stages. Similarly, special crystals can be found in each chapter, allowing the player to participate in a sports-themed minigame, also rewarding the player with drops. The game contains a large world called the Isle of Tims. Tims, creatures which are found in this world, can be fed Drops, changing their color.

GlobalM, representing SwissTech at CES 2021, is a Mediatech startup from Switzerland with a new and innovative streaming technology. The need for low latency, broadcast quality streaming for remote production has emerged with the Covid-19 pandemic. GlobalM offers a streaming service for media organisations to accept live streams from their own staff journalists, freelance reporters or program guests directly from a smartphone. The app is developed for high-quality contribution, capturing the raw image frames and processing them with the smartphones hardware encoder. This combined with an advanced streaming network based on a CDN (Content Delivery Network) architecture connects the stream at its closest point of presence on the network and delivers it to the media organisation or event on a fast dedicated backbone. The first-ever, all-digital CES 2021 made history as the largest digital tech event. Almost 2000 companies unveiled next-gen innovation for a better future. Owned and produced by the Consumer Technology Association (CTA), the all-digital CES 2021 featured product launches from startups to tech giants, keynotes from global industry leaders, live entertainment from Hollywood and more than 100 hours of conference programming. “The all-digital CES 2021 engaged the global tech community to experience innovation, make connections and conduct business,” said Gary Shapiro, president and CEO, CTA. “CES showed how the pandemic accelerated the arc of innovation and illustrated the resilience and innovative spirit of our industry. From the latest innovations for the home and entertainment, and advances in 5G, vehicle technology, AI and digital health, the technologies at CES 2021 will pave the way for a brighter tomorrow.” CES 2021 kicked off Jan. 11 with Media Day, featuring 19 press conferences with companies including Bosch, Canon, Caterpillar, Hisense, Intel, LG Electronics, Mercedes-Benz, Panasonic, Samsung Electronics and Sony breaking news.
