"A White Black Thang" ...Its hard to even begin when discussing this now huge hit song of the internet for Greenhouse Effect. Once upon a time, G.e. was a band that couldn't buy attention or get arrested - not even with all the great "Beatles like" hit songwriting contained in their seemingly endless playlist of classics. Today, it is good to see more people view Greenhouse Effect music than the crap we have swilling our airwaves of alternative rock modern radio... G.e. is a much needed breath of fresh air for melody starved fans of 1960's like hooks and choruses... In G.e., one can hear and detect the likes of Dionne Warwick and the Dave Clark Five and the Who !! Dusty Springfield and Frank Sinatra...the Monkees and early David Bowie... The clear and present pain and suffering revealed in the grooves of ge songs is unmatched and real ...and as G.e. makes mincemeat out of fluff like Metallica and today's "Nu-metal' scene of corporate riff rock, G.e's audience grows !! On the net !!

Greenhouse Effect Music ; In late 1992, November /early December, Greenhouse Effect's Clark Hagins completely out of money he earned from mowing lawns and landscaping up in Hollywood ( actually Bel Air - at an estate owned by a wealthy Arab ), recorded a couple of final songs ; IT AIN'T EASY, and another track simply called; "BETTER". THESE WOULD BE the absolute final Greenhouse Effect songs ever recorded. Cassette copies of these two final songs were miraculously recently found down in San Diego ! In old memorabilia and old tape boxes, some containing flyers for old gigs played with punk bands from around the South Bay and elsewhere. Its interesting to study these two final songs and the direction Hagins may have been going before he simply ran out of time, money, and youth !! ==================================== ============================== ------------------------- Joe Biden On Barack Obama 32 sec - Aug 22, 2008 - (3,171 Ratings) (53 Ratings) --------------------------- Rudy's Three Words 27 sec - Oct 30, 2007 - (892 Ratings) (37 Ratings) ShareReport Problem- Rate: Watch this video on youtube**** Joe Biden tells it straight about Rudy Giuliani talking about a record of experience. ------------------------------------ Hope For America: Obama/Biden '08 2 min - Jan 5, 2008 - (393 Ratings) (9 Ratings) ------------------------------- Cuba's Angel Valodia Matos kicked the match referee in the head 1 min - Aug 23, 2008 - (103 Ratings) (6 Ratings) --------------------------------- யாடேன் yaadein பாகம் 1 - (Hindi film) (ஹிந்தித் திரைப்படம்) 84 min - Dec 3, 2006 - (3,171 Ratings) (109 Ratings) --------------------------------- Naruto Episode 190 (English Subs) 23 min - (45 Ratings) (48 Ratings) ---------------------------------- Jewish Girl Prank Calls Her Parents 7 min - Aug 21, 2007 - (2,535 Ratings) (2678 Ratings)

The Greenhouse Effect could put on quite a show live. They had a deadly weapon in guitarist Phil Keegan who could play the weirdest wildest sounding leads. Lead Vocalist Clark Haggins made sure that every song had a memorable melody woven into it and bassist Rick Carmody played an active bass that was remenincent of the Who's John Entwistle....Drummer Mike Valencia held it all together the best he could and at this gig on September 1, 1990 some 18 years ago, G.e. put on an afternoon's worth of fine shreading... This would be the last ever gig with Phil Keegan though ..and G.e. would continue with Hagins switching over to guitar for far less theatrical effect... "Grunge rock' would come into fashion and G.e. were already ahead of the curve with the February 1991 album "Going Legit" and the song BEN IS DEAD !! 1992 Would present challenges to G.e. that would devestate the group. Still somehow unsigned, the band would switch gears desperately writing one alternative pop hit after the next. Songs that were pretty good ,...but that lacked the energy of the earlier G.e. with Keegan definitely... The band would split in November 1992 as only Clark Hagins and drummer Pelle Carlson remained...bassist Rick Carmody joined the South Bay Redondo's 'One handed readers' in 1992... In 1995, the retrospective "Rock Opera White SUBURBAN LIAR$" was released to low fanfare...but the excellent album lives on today as a classic piece of melodic painful suburban rock n roll fantasy. ----------------------- Passenger jet goes off Denver runway; several hurt

The songs '3/4' and 'Coke Snortin' love boys' recorded live in Torrance California by Greenhouse Effect at Wilson Park Gazebo on September 1, 1990... Phil Keegan shreads the guitar as vocalist Clark Hagins runs around the stage. Hagins' lead vocals are barely audible through the muddy P.A. System which G.e. apparently wasn't controlling themselves,..still this gig was very loud, had power, and G.e. played one very strong arrangement after the next. Drummer Mike Valencia and bassist Rick Carmody perform good wrythm section work here at this performance that would be the last time Phil Keegan would ever perform with Greenhouse Effect. At the this festival, some 6 other bands also played....

The Song "The Magic Man" recorded live boot legg in the audience by Kieth Stack and Joe Del Signore (Joe Grooveydude)in Torrance California at Wilson Park Gazebo, Sept. 1, 1990. 'Magic Man' is one of G.e's best known early songs (it appears on 1988's Global Warming cd),..and it is captured here with guitarist Phil Keegan in all his glory along with lead vocalist Clark Hagins, bassist Rick Carmody and Drummer Mike Valencia...On this afternoon in the South Bay, Greenhouse Effect performed along with 6 other bands to an increasingly drunken and hostile crowd...but G.e. carried on nonetheless with power and energy. This performance definitely lacks the usual tightness of a G.e. gig as normally Clark Hagins was the drummer but during this phase of the band, they were going increasingly "alternative metal' sometimes sounding sorta like the Red Hot Chili Peppers,...a sound that Clark Haggins did not like !! G.e. appears here somewhat funky, loud and clumsy drunk but they would sober up quickly as the afternoon went by to play other tracks like "Precarious", Number One, Virus O'Syrus, Waiting for your love to fail,3/4, and Coke Snortin' love boys, in a pretty solid performance.....The Lyrics to Magic man by Greenhouse effect; "My mothers a school teacher, she pulls in about $300 a week - my mothers in charge of shaping..tomorrows reality,.. the magic mans' a ballplayer he pulls in millions ,...the magic mans in charge of puttin' a ball in a hole,..?? Greenhouse Effect recorded in 1991 at Accessive Light and Sound Studio in Harbor City California with drummer Martin Silva playing the "Going Legit" album song ' Dead End Street'.... Virtually every detail now about 'The internet's" band G.e. is being put up on the web for scrutiny and curiosity !! Drummer Marty Silva added a whole new dimension of power to Greenhouse Effect and the live shows would sound great powered through big P.A. systems... Greenhouse Effect, ofcourse, would go on without Silva into 1992 and they would write a song that today in 2008 has changed and transcended the way rock bands use the internet...that song ofcourse is "White Black Thang"...'White Black Thang' gets no airplay on corporate fm radio BUT it is one of alternative rock's most trafficed songs on the world wide web... Notes; Clark Hagins sings and plays lead guitar here along with bassist Rick Carmody in this legendary internet three piece band... check out the greenhouse effect song Brandy at ao video and goo le today ...

1988 Greenhouse Mixtape; "Actor" written by Phil Keegan and Clark Hagins. Slow 1987 power ballad and one of the few that G.e. would ever do !! This early Zeppelin meets Deep Purple like track certainly does nothing for G.e's 'alternative' rock credibility' but it does serve as a serious cheesey metal classic thats sure to get some lighters hoisted into the air at a concert live !!

Redondo Beach Music Songs; Greenhouse Effect "22nd Street"; This song comes from 1991's Going Legit album but it sounds so great in 2008 as it gets massive views in Google Search engines for G.e. This is easily one of the best G.e. songs if not the absolute best,..standing up to BRANDY, White Black Thang, Number One, and the Magic Man with ease. --------------------------------- Clark Hagins and Rick Carmody wrote this track at '251' in Redondo Beach (Hagins' house) in the famous 'garage' where most G.e. songs were dreamed up....... Hagins and Carmody got their start in music long long ago ...originally using a tape recorder to record themselves writing crude songs using a bunch of bicycle seats as a 'drum set" and fashioning old stereos into crude ampliphyers way back as early as 1982 and 83'... Says Hagins; "When you used a drum stick to hit the bike seat of a derailor, it sounded really solid with like this good bass on it...and when we recorded it, we would just get like awesome sounds...it was like; 'thud' but with power...", 'then we added some guitar and vocals to it...' -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- New MapQuest Local shows what's happening at your destination. This is the highest performance, most spectrally rich plant light source in the world. Promotes the growth and development of all photosynthesizing organisms (plants, algae, bacteria) commonly found in hobby, commercial, and scientific areas of interest. Each product has a balanced, stress free, light spectrum that allows for 24/7 operation for up to a 40% increase in plant growth. Use as either a primary light source, supplemental light, or simply to extend day period 4-6 hours during winter monthsextending your greenhouse season to 365 days per year. Product life is 11.41 years at 24/7 operation. Unlike “broad spectrum” plant grow lights, which produce a lot of light plants can’t use efficiently, LED Grow Lights only deliver the colors of light used by plants for efficient and healthy growth. By leaving out light plants don’t need, we provide still more energy savings over conventional plant grow lights.
