BAND MEMBERS: Liam Mackey, Roy Plisko, Tim Sadow, Mark Lanus, Steve Young
INFLUENCES: Pogues, Christy Moore, Saw Doctors, Waterboys, Horselips, Thin Lizzy, Luka Bloom, Great Big Sea, Johnny Cash, AC/DC, Metallica, Flogging Molly, Dropkick Murphys, classical music, jazz and funk. . . . oh. . and Benny Hill.
SOUNDS LIKE: Modern, backbeat driven, fiddle and flute driven, Celtic rock with tight vocal harmonies, instrumental diversity and a few dirty jokes. It can be sweet at times but it can also be darker, with a very driving, punchy, sound for a band with no electric guitar. Think of an edgy rock band playing on MTV unplugged. It can be more melodic than Celtic punk or hard rock but also much more rockin' than your typical Celtic folk or acoustic pop.

Jon must have known in 1989 that everybody would be walking around with Head Phone on! (iPod) 1st performance ever of Jon Hammond original with all-star studio band: ALEX FOSTER-tenor sax, BARRY FINNERTY-gtr., CHUGGY CARTER-perc., BERNARD PURDIE-drums & JON HAMMOND at his 1959 B3 Organ in the now defunct but legendary club MIKELL'S that was located at corner Columbus & W.97th St. Mikell's was the studio musicians' hang until it sadly closed. It lasted from 1969-1991 run by Mike and Pat Mikell. Mike died one year ago Nov. 22, 2005 at age 80 of Lou Gehrig's Disease. Many well-known musicians felt at home there including Paul Schaffer of David Letterman's Late Night TV show. The night of this film Hugh Masakela came and hung out the entire night. Cornell Dupree came later and sat in with Jon's band that was known then as JON HAMMOND'S LATE RENT SESSION MEN, featured weekly on Manhattan Cable TV/Time Warner's JON HAMMOND SHOW late night TV Show now in it's 23rd year. Bernard Purdie's first time on the band this night and his 2 children Henry and Phyllis came to listen after hearing about it on the radio. Enjoy! *More info: *******www.HammondCast**** c)2006
Take 1 styrofoam head, 1 M350 and a little seaweed for hair and make your own fun and exciting explosions. There was absolutely nothing left of the head, no little chunks of foam, nothing.
