Year Video Recorded: October 4th [today! xD], 2011 [10/4/2011] Song Name: The Art of Losing Song Artist: American Hi-Fi Song First Heard [by TIGER M]: Freaky Friday Original Soundtrack [OST] Song Source [Compact Disc]: Freaky Friday Original Soundtrack [OST] Stepmania Version: 3.9beta What Is It Time For: a "Dance! Dance! Revolution!! ^_^ The Art of WINNING! =D ********** The very first time I heard the jam-track of the opening drum solo in this song I was hooked! xD The song also came to me at a time in my life that seemed to celebrate a portion of my life that continues to be almost as if a replaying record: things I complete which I feel strongly about, and it seems other people as well feel strongly about -- turn out being downplayed [by specific people] in order to prove "You're not what you think you are! You are not as good at this-that-and-the-other as you seem to be!" Well... um ok? o.o To each their own opinion. =3 However, this song happened into my life at a time when the reminder there are those who are sworn by "The Art of Losing" and so desire to see others do the same. There was one day when I drove up to Darton College listening to this song blasting aloud from the speakers of my then-Mitsubishi 5-speed manual sports car and this middle-aged woman who I would often see standing outside out-front of the "Student Center" taking a smoke heard me. It was relatively cool outside and pretty early in the morning (around 7:00 AM or so). After I got out of the car I said, "Hello!" brightly and headed on to my tutoring session. Before I passed by, she gave me a curious look and said aloud, "You're jamming out this morning aren't ya?" I simply laughed lightly and let her know that I listed to a bit of everything. "I heard!" she responded. Smiling I went inside to a ...fairly mundane tutoring session held in the student center for math students. [Yes. I was in remedial math class I and II.] After waking up in the morning with uptempo music like "The Art of Losing," the theme for "Love Hina Again" (which to this day I have not seen! ^^; Have read the manga series tho' =3 It ROCKS! ^_^) and "Ultimate" by Lindsay Lohan -- the highlight of my early college days began shortly after my second Semester at Darton College -- creating stepcharts choreographing to AWESOME songs like this one! xD The Art of Choreography! =D ...For STEPCHARTS! )=O ********** This stepchart was created shortly after the one I did for "Ultimate" by Lindsay Lohan from the very same album [Freaky Friday Original Soundtrack =)]. In fact, this one was done about a week after "Utlimate" was complete [completed "Ultimate" on December 4th, and this one followed on the 11th]. What I had learned while creating the stepchart for "Ultimate" was that some rock songs would change throughout the song -- this stepchart surprised me at first because it "sounded" constant. However... although I did not place any BPM breaks or pauses in the song -- there was a constant speed variation. There was a point during the creation of this stepchart that I honestly felt that I wanted to give up. The tedious changes began to prove challenging at one point, and for a while, in Audacity [an audio editing program] I had trouble finding a "cut point" for the song in order to keep the song "Dance Dance Revolution" length. One thing took place after another as I refused to give in to "The Art of Losing" and the end result is a stepchart that was well received on Bemanistyle [the only place I shared stepcharts between 2003-2005] and well pleasing to my family and I alike. =) [A HUGE inspiration for my continued creating stepcharts. We'd each play test and later got the metal Red Octane pad and everything. =) Still got one. ^_^] Enjoy! =D A lot went into this stepchart! Have fun, and don't get sucked in but please enjoy "The Art of Losing!" =3 Stay Superb! ^_^ Forever In Love With All That Which Exists (That Which Is Seen & Unseen, Known & Unknown), - Writer, Artist, Musician, DJ, Eternal Student & Being of Existence, -WAM!
