' Jabberwocky ' -poem AUDIO by Lewis Carroll read by John Green Studio production - Robert Nichol rnaudioproductions for *******www.ipodity****/ *******www.allcast******/ 'Twas brillig, and the slithy toves Did gyre and gimble in the wabe; All mimsy were the borogoves, And the mome raths outgrabe. "Beware the Jabberwock, my son! The jaws that bite, the claws that catch! Beware the Jubjub bird, and shun The frumious Bandersnatch!" He took his vorpal sword in hand: Long time the manxome foe he sought -- So rested he by the Tumtum tree, And stood awhile in thought And as in uffish thought he stood, The Jabberwock, with eyes of flame, Came whiffling through the tulgey wood, And burbled as it came! One, two! One, two! and through and through The vorpal blade went snicker-snack! He left it dead, and with its head He went galumphing back. "And hast thou slain the Jabberwock? Come to my arms, my beamish boy! O frabjous day! Callooh! Callay!" He chortled in his joy. 'Twas brillig, and the slithy toves Did gyre and gimble in the wabe; All mimsy were the borogoves, And the mome raths outgrabe. -this is a great version, John brings every word to life. Lots more Lewis Carroll on this site plus many more classics. I hope you enjoy hearing them as much as we enjoyed recording them. AudioProductions 1989 all rights reserved

*******www.ipodity**** In Greek and Roman mythology, Apollo (in Greek, Ἀπόλλων—Apóllōn or Ἀπέλλων—Apellōn), is one of the most important and many-sided of the Olympian deities. The ideal of the kouros (a beardless youth), Apollo has been variously recognized as a god of light and the sun; truth and prophecy; archery; medicine and healing; music, poetry, and the arts; and more. Apollo is the son of Zeus and Leto, and has a twin sister, the chaste huntress Artemis. Apollo is known in Greek-influenced Etruscan mythology as Apulu. In Roman mythology he is known as Apollo. -Written and narrated by Peter Joucla Audio created by Robert Nichol AudioProductions. *******www.ipodity**** Chepstow Castle The castle is high on a cliff above the River Wye, as it guards one of the main river crossings from England into Wales. The strategic position of Chepstow had been appreciated by the Romans - the arch above the main doorway is made from Roman brick brought from a fort that once stood nearby. Chepstow's strategic position allowed defenders to supply the castle via the river during a siege. Historically it was probably the first stone castle to be built anywhere in Britain. There were a number of alterations to the castle over the ages - from the later Normans to the Tudors and through to the Cromwellians.
