Combat Cars review. Classic Game Room presents a CGRundertow review of Combat Cars from Accolade for the SEGA Genesis. Combat Cars is a top down racer that adds Mario Kart style weapons and combat to the mix. It's also a pain in the ass that adds sadism to the mix. Combat Cars is unbelievably difficult, and perfection is the only acceptable outcome. If you don't get first place, you lose. So if you're not good at video games, just forget Combat Cars. You'll never see anything beyond the first course. Partly because it's hard, and partly because the game doesn't control all that well either. This video review features video gameplay footage of Combat Cars for the SEGA Genesis and audio commentary from Classic Game Room's Derek.

Crash Team Racing review. Classic Game Room presents a CGRundertow review of Crash Team Racing for Playstation 1. A kart racing game for the original Playstation that showed that Playstation had established franchises. In the same style of Mario Kart, you race against other characters from the Crash franchise using weapons and power-ups. With a solid single player and amazing multiplayer, this was the kart racer for Playstation to rival Mario Kart. This video review features video gameplay footage of Crash Team Racing for Playstation 1 and audio commentary from Classic Game Room's Ryan.

Jimmie Johnson's Anything With An Engine review. Classic Game Room presents a CGRundertow review of Jimmie Johnson's Anything With An Engine from Isopod Labs and Autumn Games for the PlayStation 3. Anything With An Engine is a kart racer, and although it's not as wacky as Mario Kart, it's perhaps even more bizarre. You choose a driver from a strange cast of characters that includes generic lookalikes for everything from a Big Daddy to Harley Quinn. The vehicles are piles of junk thrown together, reassembled and of course, given an engine. You're racing coffins, bathtubs, lawnmowers...it's actually an interesting concept, but the game never does anything memorable with it. It plays well, but that's about it. This video review features video gameplay footage of Jimmie Johnson's Anything With An Engine for the PlayStation 3 and audio commentary from Classic Game Room's Derek.

Face Racers: Photo Finish review. Classic Game Room presents a CGRundertow review of Face Racers: Photo Finish from Renegade Kid and Majesco for the Nintendo 3DS. Face Racers: Photo Finish is a kart racer with one hook...you put your face in the game. You're prompted to take four photos of yourself with the 3DS, each one for a different emotion. Those photos are then pasted onto the face of a kart racer, who evidently was faceless beforehand. Then, you race. Against three people. We've played and covered Nintendo systems for a long time, so we've come across plenty of Mario Kart clones. Some have been fun, some not so much. But this...this is legitimately the worst kart racer we've ever played. Oh, but your face is on the character. This video review features video gameplay footage of Face Racers: Photo Finish for the Nintendo 3DS and audio commentary from Classic Game Room's Derek.

Top ten Nintendo 3DS games of 2011 video feature. Classic Game Room presents a CGRundertow video feature on the top ten Nintendo 3DS games of 2011. Although the system suffered a disappointing launch and a very slow period at retail, the Nintendo 3DS finally began to pick up steam toward the end of 2011. In fact, looking at it retrospectively, 2011 doesn't seem that bad for the 3DS. Until you remember there wasn't anything to play on it for the first eight months. But as Derek says in this feature, let's let bygones and bygones. This video feature features video gameplay footage of Star Fox 64 3D, the Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time 3D, Mario Kart 7, Pushmo and Super Mario 3D Land for the Nintendo 3DS and audio commentary from Classic Game Room's Derek.

Jak X: Combat Racing review. Classic Game Room presents a CGRundertow review of Jak X: Combat Racing for Playstation 2. Jak and company have been poisoned and the only way they can get their hands on the cure is to win the Combat Racing Championship. This will be a perilous fight of mastering the skills of high speed racing mixed with high stakes combat. Like many other kart racing games, it is equal parts racing properly and using turbo and weapons effectively. It may not have changed the formula of kart racers, but does work well with the winning equation. This video review features video gameplay footage of Jak X: Combat Racing for Playstation 2 and audio commentary from Classic Game Room's Ryan.

Classic Game Room presents a CGRundertow review of Cartoon Network Speedway for the GBA. Released in 2003, this kart racer was developed by DC Studios and published by Majesco. Although this game is an alright kart racer, it is also a clone of a certain other racing game. However, it does feature Ed, Edd, and Eddy, and that makes it a little bit better. This CGRundertow review features gameplay and commentary from CGR's Gabe.

CTR Crash Team Racing review. *******www.ClassicGameRoom**** Shop CGR shirts and mugs! *******www.CGRstore**** Classic Game Room reviews CTR CRASH TEAM RACING for PlayStation from Naughty Dog and Sony released in 1999. CTR Crash Team Racing is a kart racing game like Mario Kart with the Crash Bandicoot characters. Far from being a "me too" kind of game, CTR delivers awesome driving with excellent track designs, great visuals and smooth gameplay where driving is the priority instead of drifting for boost. Mario Kart and Sonic Racing fans or anyone who loves video game kart racing should dig CTR because the gameplay is super fun and the challenge rocks!

Banjo-Pilot is a kart racing style game with airplanes featuring the Banjo-Kazooie series of characters that include Banjo, Kazooie, Grunty, Humba Wumba, Jingo, Klungo, Bottles and more. Players compete in a variety of races that include a championship series, jiggy mode and time trials. Banjo-Kazooie was originally released in 1998 on the Nintendo 64 from developer Rare.

Excitebots Trick Racing review. *******www.ClassicGameRoom**** Shop CGR shirts & mugs! *******www.CGRstore**** Classic Game Room reviews EXCITEBOTS TRICK RACING for Nintendo Wii from 2009, an EXTREME racing game where you pilot bug and animal shaped robots around tracks with little regard for realism. This game is far better than it looks from the packaging design and actually delivers exciting game play with silly robot vehicles that should appeal to kids and anyone looking for fast paced kart racing.
