November 2006 (Medialink) -- As we head into the nation's busiest travel season, many airports are still experiencing a 20-40% increase in checked luggage following the TSA's latest carry-on restrictions. This has many travelers concerned their holiday travels will be marred by lost luggage, damaged luggage, and long lines at the baggage claim. Roy Lichtensteins 'Pop Art Car' won the hearts of not only the exhibit’s visitors at the Centre Geogres Pompidou, but also those who were present at the 1977 Le Mans where it came in 9th place overall and first place in its category. The long lines that run the length of the car almost looks like the 'speed lines' that are usually drawn on cartoon cars to represent speed and motion, and the oversized dots remind viewers of Lichtensteins’ famous comic painting. 'I wanted to show the direction the car is headed in with the lines I painted“, said the American artist about his design.
