Dr. Jay Calvert is a board-certified Plastic Surgeon with practices in Beverly Hills and Newport Beach, California. His main area of focus is on rhinoplasty, secondary rhinoplasty, facelifts, and breast augmentation surgery. Understanding that his high-end clientele also craves state-of the-art beauty treatments, Dr. Calvert founded Rox Spa, a state-of-the-art medical spa for non-invasive aesthetic treatments which also has offices in the heart of Beverly Hills and Orange County. He is currently volunteer faculty at the University of Southern California in the Division of Plastic Surgery. Dr. Jay Calvert is frequently invited to speak at congresses around the world including being a regular speaker for the American Society for Aesthetic Plastic Surgery (ASAPS), the IMCAS meetings (Paris, Shanghai), Vegas Cosmetic Surgery meetings, and many others.
Dr. Jay Calvert attended Vanderbilt University in Nashville, TN for his undergraduate degree in molecular biology. While attending Cornell University Medical College in Manhattan, Dr. Calvert realized his passion for plastic surgery and went on to complete his residency in the University of Pittsburgh Graduate School of Health Sciences Combined Plastic Surgery/General Surgery program. The Louisiana Family Recovery Corps will begin accepting requests for proposals at 9:38 a.m. CDT on Aug. 29, 2007, to allow Louisiana-based non-profit organizations to apply for access to more than $7 million in funds designated to assist Hurricane Katrina and Rita survivors with household establishment needs.
Approximately $5 million will be allocated for hurricane-impacted households in Louisiana and approximately $2 million more will be allocated for households still residing in FEMA trailers in group settings.
In addition, the organization will invest about $1 million in the Recovery Corps' NOLA Bound Call Center to assist displaced survivors who still reside outside of Louisiana but want to come back to live and work.
The Louisiana Family Recovery Corps, a non-profit 501c3 organization based in Baton Rouge, La., was formed in the wake of Hurricanes Katrina and Rita. Through contractual arrangements with case management organizations and other non-profit organizations, the organization has assisted more than 25,000 hurricane-affected households with recovery planning, housing, children's services and emotional well-being needs since January 2006. Storm chasers document a 15 foot storm surge from Hurricane Katrina in Slidell, Louisiana, which engulfs their vehicle and forces them to a second floor balcony. This video features the entire duration of the storm, from the outer bands through the devastating storm surge. Sadly, many of the homes and other buildings in the south side of Slidell were destroyed.
