Dance! Revolution!! ^_^ The Return To The Start! ********** Ah! The memories this stepchart brings! ^_^ Before Namco's Time Out Arcade ever introduced locally Dance Dance Revolution in the small city I grew up in [Albany, Georgia]; a "mini-mall" shopping complex meets in-door flea market run and maintained mostly by Asians [Koreans to be more exact!] so-named the Millennium Mall: introduced Pump It Up to the small city of Albany, Georgia! Although much thanks to a purchase made by my younger brother from a video game store so-named Babbage's in the Albany Mall Dance Dance Revolution became the very first "Dance Game" I ever played... Pump It Up was the first dance game I played on a foot Pad! =D This all happened during the time Dreamcast and Nintendo 64 were THE thing and "Dolphin" (GameCube) was being talked about. ^_^ At the time we began playing Pump It Up at the just-downtown Millennium Mall -- I had not ever seen anything like it! Sure playing DDR was fun and interesting and all--catching "Musical Arrows as Notes" in time with music with your hands but THIS--this was played with your feet! O.O I had recently turned 19 and had begun my first Spring Semester during my going-on second year at Darton College when I was virtually "dragged" onto the machine to give it a try. Didn't do so hot the first time. Second time either. The third time did a little better but was still in awe at how different this game was from the one at home [DDR on the Sony Playstation]. The music was enjoyable but was little like what was on DDR or local radio! Of course it was! It was all in Korean. ^_^ This in addition to the "5-Star" [5-point] dance pad--4 arrows and one "center step..." also was WOW! O.O The background animations playing out like a "Mini Story" or "Mini Anime Series" is what truly intrigued me about this video game. The original DDR we had at home had 3D rendered backgrounds and designs but this was very different. Sometimes I'd skip my turn and watch my siblings play just to view the cool and sometimes bizarre backgrounds! [Space Fantasy!? Oh My GOD! Is that a molester in "Run To You!?"] However... I would not play "Comin' Back" for just-at 3-year's time when Putt-Putt would transform from Putt-Putt Golf And Games [which I grew up with] to The All American Fun Park [which had smoking hot employees o.o] and installed full-armed Laser Tag, a batting cage, and BOTH machines in the arcade: DDR & Pump It Up! Comin' Back To This Stepchart! ********** The "Light Steps" are meant to be a "remixed-rendition" of the original steps which to this day is still some of the most fun I have ever had in a Dance Chart hands-down! [for DDR or Pump! ^_^] At the time was only able to do the first two levels for some songs [drop to your hands on hardest!? WHOA! o.o] The "Standard Steps" essentially became my favorite set as the desire was to create a "4-arrow" fun song stepchart on-rhythm with the song in a style kind of like "Daikenkai" (Which I had only recently played at the time). Initially the "Heavy Steps" were "on-tempo" with the music, but after completing the chart--I went back over it a few months later to add a couple of arrows and made a mistake and offset the chart! ...It turned out to be a "Good mistake" as the "new" steps rode the rhythm and had a quirky feel to them that I really came to like. =) After sharing on Bemanistyle, I decided to leave it that way! And so the steps stayed minor offset and I hope you enjoy all 3 sets! =D Thank You for taking the time to read! =D Forever In Love With All That Which Exists (That Which Is Seen & Unseen, Known & Unknown), -WAM!

Stepmania Version: 3.9beta What Is It Time For: a "Dance! Dance! Revolution!! ^_^ Connected! TO TEH WORLD! =D ********** WHOO! This song most certainly brings back memories! Part of the memory of this song is that I almost did not ever hear this song -- or simply heard this song because I suppose not only was this stepchart supposed to be made and rendered into existence but also... a GREAT memory that may later positively affect the near future. More on that later though. =) The way I received the Ayumi Hamasaki album [an album I hadn't heard of at the time] was through a misdirected eBay Auction from Asia. The purchase was made via eBay and at the time I had a mix album of Ayumi Hamasaki music entitled "" and had ordered a Utada Hikaru album. The kind seller had mistakenly sent Ayumi Hamasaki "I Am..." and when I opened the package covered in Asian-lettered stamps... I was surprised to see Ayumi on the cover looking like her usual gorgeous self. The image intrigued me. Next thought? "Where is Utada Hikaru? o.o Hmnn... but I reeeally wonder how this sounds..." *STARES at the compact discc...* I let the kind eBayer know that the item I had bid on [Utada Hikaru - Deep River] had not been received. Without any specific requests or suggested tone [that i recollect =)] the seller she was kind enough to say, "I will send you the right one. You may Keep the one that I sent.' WHOA! Unexpected! XD Positive feedback was DEFINITELY exchanged for that auction! =3 Shortly after that--I received Deep River! =D And I also had the "mystery Ayumi CD" that I was interested in hearing. This honest exchange lead to a friendship via e-mail--this was before popular social networks were huge and when forums and chats guided this path. =) To this day, this friendship is still greatly valued. Connection Video Connections & Charts: Step To This Connection! ^_^ ********** Although the title of this song at the time I first heard it was the only verbal-lyrical "connection" I understood... the music and the consistent flow of energy relayed an understanding to me that this song was about the various ways human beings and our world remains "connected" to the world in which we live. I wanted the stepchart to reflect that understanding and also to reflect the "cyber race" sound of the track as well. This was around 2003 or 2004. And at the time, I had not seen the video [just saw that in early 2011 after thinking about this song again =)]... but I knew I wanted this song to be FAST! What resulted was a stepchart that was uptempo, fun, and intriguing! ^_^ Or so I was told! =3 Bemanistyle absolutely LOVED it! =D A rating of 10/10 and boasted string after string [on the download forum for the chart] of positive comments and praise for the chart! ^_^ At the time, I went by the alias "Arcilius" on Bemanistyle****. This stepchart also showcased the beginning of "Baby-steps" in doing something about my growing passion for video production and "slide-show" style films [this was before YouTube, MetacCafe, and video networks were "pop"]. The background images were selected to share the idea of our "World Connection" and how we are all one and one is all of us! The steps themselves reflect the vision of the background and energy of the tune and the beat "Pauses" and the points of "slow down" and "speed up" of the BPM [beats per minute] were not only fun to but together and share-- but also should prove fun to play! =D On Bemanistyle, it was often respected by a "chart, by chart" basis what the steps did and how the steps reflected the music [that is to say, a "Good Heavy Chart" was not the same as a "Good Standard" chart or "Good Light Chart"] and I will certainly say that players of all levels of should find enjoyment! =D Stay awesome! Stay connected! And stay YOU! ^_^ Enjoy The Stepchart - Connected! =D Forever In Love With All That Which Exists (That Which Is Seen & Unseen, Known & Unknown), -WAM! Tiger M. Gales [LaDi!
