This is the 3rd test of my RGB LED Matrix. I now have all 3 sets of coloured LED's (Red, Green and Blue) connected and therefore all 192 LED's connected up to my micro controller (An Arduino). The only thing between the Arduino and the Matrix are 4 x 74HC595N 8-bit serial-parallel Shift Registers. Each register controls a seperate bank of colours with the final register multiplexing the common anode rows. The use of the shift registers plus the technique of multiplexing means I only need 3 digital outputs from my micro controller instead of 192.
Code on the micro controller is scrolling my test message demonstrating each of the 7 colours (blue, green, light blue, red, purple, yellow & white) in turn.
Next step is to tidy up the appearance of the font and to write functions to set individual dots, draw lines, boxes, cycle through preset animations, etc. I've also order some 64k EEPROM's to store the font array and animations in.
I have purposely decreased the exposure in the video to bring out the colours.

At this point in humankind's existence, most of the energy that many households consume is gathered from the numerous power plants that are then powered by fossil fuels. Fossil fuels unfortunately are nearing their extinction and becoming more and more expensive to source and this is why we're faced with rising electric bills each month. Not only is it an expensive resource, but it also contributes negatively to the environment. The gas that are emitted by the major power plants cause such a harmful effect on our environment that we are now facing a much bigger problem called global warming.
So with all these problems, it is about time to capitalize more on developing energy from the sun. Solar energy is free as the sun is a free resource that anyone can take advantage of. And it is readily available since anyone can have access to it.
The main objective of this project is to track the sun and rotate the solar panel accordingly, to receive sunlight to the fullest extent always during the day time. This movement is achieved by interfacing a stepper motor to the solar panel( a dummy solar panel is given in the project) that changes its direction according to the positioning of the sun. This is achieved using time reference that controls the movement time for 12 hours by a program written in such a way that for every given time the solar panel faces to the sun to generate maximum power which is stored in batteries and future use. Model No: 204 This project is implemented in such a way that the lights glow according the music. This music operated running lights circuit uses IC’s. The music (sound) signals are sensed by a condenser microphone which is then amplified by an IC. The outputs of the IC are fed to the transistors to drive bulbs LED’s those dance as per the music played. One variable resistor is required for microphone sensitivity and another for maximum performance. The circuit works off 9V to 12V power supply. Model No: 209 The aim of the project is to make a low voltage and high voltage indicator. This system will save costly electrical and electronic appliances from the adverse effects of very high and very low mains voltages. The circuit features auto reset and utilizes easily available components. It makes use of the comparators available inside 555 timer ICs. Supply is tapped from different points of the power supply circuit for the display and control circuit operation to achieve reliability.
The power supply consists of a step down transformer 230/12V, which steps down the voltage to 12V AC. This is converted to DC using a Bridge rectifier. The ripples are removed using a capacitive filter and it is then regulated to +9V using a voltage regulator 7809 which is required for the operation 555 timer. Model No: 213 This is a Precise Charge Controller for Solar Photo Voltaic Panel. The main scope of project is the photovoltaic cells while converting the sunlight in to electricity a charge controller circuit is used. Photovoltaic cells come in many sizes, but most are 10 cm by 10 cm or round and generate about half a volt (0.6 being the PN junction voltage of a silicon diode) of electricity. PV cells are bundled together in modules or panels to produce higher voltages and increased power. A 12-volt module, depending on its power output, could have 30 to 40 PV cells. As the sunlight varies in intensity the electricity so generated usually charges through the charge a set of batteries for storing the energy. Charge controllers comprising of MOSFET are used as power semiconductor switches to ensure cutoff at fully battery charged condition.
