The results of the TRANSCEND® trial demonstrate that telmisartan 80mg reduces the risk of cardiovascular death, myocardial infarction/heart attack and stroke in high-risk cardiovascular patients by 13% compared with those patients already receiving best standard of care (p=0.048), referring to the same endpoint as that defined as the primary endpoint of the landmark HOPE trial published in 2000.1,2 Therapy with telmisartan was well tolerated and showed a trend towards a lower rate of discontinuation.1 The new data on 5,926 patients from 40 countries were presented today at the annual congress of the European Society of Cardiology (ESC) in Munich, Germany. TRANSCEND®* is the first landmark trial to test and prove the cardiovascular protective effects of an angiotensin II receptor blocker (ARB) – Boehringer Ingelheim's telmisartan – versus placebo, on top of standard therapy (including anti-hypertensives, anti-platelet therapy and statins), in high-risk individuals who cannot tolerate an angiotensin converting enzyme (ACE)-inhibitor. The Arteriograph analysis the cardiovascular system from five highly important aspects to assure Comprehensive Cardiovascular Risk Assessment. Measuring Central and Peripheral Blood Pressure, Arterial Stiffness (small and large arterial function via AIx & PWVao), Cardiac fitness and considering Classical Cardiovascular Risk Stratification (Framingham, SCORE), Arteriograph enables detecting the real, individual risk even at the early, reversible stage. This is the fastest, most accurate, time and cost efficient way of having a Heart MOT done, preventing stroke and heart attack.

*******www.nucleusinc****/medical-animation This 3D medical animation depicts a coronary angiography procedure. It begins by showing the buildup of plaque in an artery wall of the heart, blocking the flow of blood. Afterwards, the patient lies on a testing table while contrast dye is injected into the arteries of the heart, showing the location of the blockage. A guide wire is then moved through the lumen of the blocked blood vessel, followed by a balloon and stent mechanism. The balloon inflates, putting the metal stent in place, so that the lumen of the artery is open and the red blood cells can flow freely.

*******www.nucleusinc****/medical-animation This 3D animation on abdominal aortic aneurysms depicts the anatomy of the aorta and both the open and endovascular procedure for repairing an abdominal aortic aneurysm. Abdominal aortic aneurysm (also known as AAA, pronounced "triple-a") is a localized dilatation (ballooning) of the abdominal aorta exceeding the normal diameter by more than 50 percent. In the open procedure the abdomen and aorta are opened and a graft is sown into place. In an endovascular procedure catheters are used to place a stent graft in the aneurysm.

This AMV is about what 'Magical Shopping Arcade Abenobashi' would be like if it was a pharmaceutical company. This AMV uses the song 'Paracetomoxyfrusebendroneomycin' by The Amateur Transplants. There is some strong language in this. This song starts slow (there is little action for the first 30 seconds) but then it rapidly speeds up. During the first 30 seconds I add in the Paracetomoxyfrusebendroneomycin pill I made, originally I planned to add this in whenever Paracetomoxyfrusebendroneomycin was mentioned but I decided to add health claims instead. On the pill is the letter 'P' is an Edwardian font, however since the pill is sideways it looks like an 'S'. Here is a list of the medical terminology used in the song. AIDS: Acquired Immunodeficiency Syndrome. BNF: British National Formulary. COPD: Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease. DVT: Deep-vein Thrombosis. HIV: Human Immunodeficiency Virus. IV: Intravenous. ME: Myalgic Encephalomyelitis. MI: Myocardial Infarction. MS: Multiple Sclerosis. NHS: National Health Service. PE: Premature Ejaculation. SARS: Severe Acute Respiratory Syndrome. This AMV won Best Comedy and Best of Show in the Phoenix Anime Fest (*******www.animemusicvideos****/phpBB/viewtopic.php?t=75589).
