Say what you will about his past, Philadelphia Eagle’s QB Michael Vick has certainly figured out his present, even as the Washington Redskins couldn’t figure out how to stop him on Monday Night Football. Didn’t see the game? You missed -- a spectacle. Four touchdowns through the air, two more on the ground. Vick made the Redskins look silly. The performance was the talk of cable networks Tuesday morning – CNN says cha ching. “So this is the ultimate story of redemption is what you’re saying? Do we care about redemption stories? It is what do you think of this story? I think it is one of the big stories of the day. FLASH Michael Vick is playing for a contract right now. If Donovan McNabb signs a contract with $40 million of the deal guaranteed. After a performance like this, what is this kid worth?” The New York Daily News Ian Powers puts Vick’s night in perspective, attaching one word: Ridiculous. “He's the first player in NFL history with at least 300 yards passing, 50 yards rushing, four TDs passing and two TDs rushing in a single game. But, who could imagine that ever happening before anyway?” TIME notes, this isn’t just a story of Vick’s redemption from the Dark Side. This is the stuff of the Phoenix and ashes. “Two years ago, could anyone have imagined that Michael Vick would be the planet's best football player in 2010? That the NFL may be marketing a convicted felon as the face of the league down the stretch?” After the game on ESPN, Vick acknowledged, after his stint in federal prison, and the ensuing public ridicule, he’s a changed man. “Going through so much over the last three years. And you know, just getting the opportunity. I told myself I would never take advantage of it again. And give it everything I got.” The blog Rolling Out gets superlative, calling it the greatest all-around quarterback performance of all-time. And puts it in some heady company. “...there has never been a quarterback who dominated a game with his arm and legs the way Vick did in Monday's game. It was on par with Wilt Chamberlain's 100-point game against the New York Knicks in 1962; Muhammad Ali's victory against Joe Frazier in 1975; and Willie Mays' four home runs in a single game 1961.” So -- was it the greatest ever? Transcript by Newsy**** You're watching multisource sports video news from Newsy. “The roof of the Metrodome, the stadium in Minnesota, has collapsed. You can see it looks deflated there.” (HLN) A monster winter snowstorm blanketed the upper Midwest with heavy snow – with Minneapolis getting the brunt of it. The weight of the snowfall – which totalled over 16 inches – caused the roof of the Metrodome to sink-in. The much-anticipated Giants Vikings game has been moved to Monday night in Detroit. Not only did the roof collapse, but theres a giant hole in the dome as well. ESPN reports this isn’t the first time the Metrodome has had roof problems. Tim Nelson of Minnesota Public Radio explains the situation and how long it might take to get fixed. “It looks like a big bowl of sugar over there. We actually have some pictures up. ... This dome has gone down in the past several times. Sometimes it has taken a couple days to get it back up. It isn’t clear even if they do get it back up how soon they can safely put a crowd underneath it. ... Two roof panels are damaged at this point, its unclear if they have replacements or how long it would take to fix that.” Initially, the game was re-scheduled to Monday as the Giants were stranded in Kansas City. On CNN, a public information officer in Minnesota says the roof collapse actually alleviates many safety concerns officials had. “There were concerns for a number of reasons. The amount of snow we had just people getting around safely. That was one of the concerns we had as a state police agency. From what I heard officials say they did have some concerns – that’s why it was postponed. ... However, I don’t think anyone could have imagined this.” The postponement adds for drama to another significant story line – whether or not aging Vikings quarterback Brett Favre keeps his NFL record streak of 297 consecutive starts alive. Favre told ESPN's Ed Werder, had the game been Sunday he would not have played due to a sprained shoulder. Now with the delay, many analysts believe Favre will start – but not finish the game. Still, a writer for the Daily Norseman thinks it’s the end of the road. “Favre's longevity streak be damned. Whether Favre starts Sunday or not doesn't matter, … The Streak, which is a remarkable achievement, will be over. And it will be newsworthy, but we will move on. Well, ESPN won't.
