Classic Game Room reviews SPACE HARRIER for Sega Saturn, the Japanese release in the gold packaging which looks fresh-tastic. It's time to wreck the Fantasy Zone in your fancy pants by shooting aliens in this awesome, classic shooter on-rails from Sega. This CGR review has video game gameplay from the Sega Saturn version of Space Harrier from Sega which runs fast and smooth on the amazing Sega Saturn.
Resident Evil The Umbrella Chronicles review. *******www.ClassicGameRoom**** Classic Game Room reviews RESIDENT EVIL THE UMBRELLA CHRONICLES from Capcom for the PlayStation 3, a shooter-on-rails arcade style video game that takes place during some of the iconic scenes from Resident Evil, Resident Evil Zero and Resident Evil 3. Five lengthy campaign missions that are playable one or two player make this a solid investment from the PlayStation Network that packs hours of fun and challenge. Resident Evil The Umbrella Chronicles was originally released on the Nintendo Wii in 2007, this version for the PS3 has enhanced visuals and plays with the PS Move controller. The under utilized PlayStation Move has few games that use it effectively, this is one of the better ones (although response isn't as good as it is in House of the Dead to be honest). Aim, shoot and waste zombies as you play through some of your favorite Resident Evil games with the good looking protagonists in tight pants in Resident Evil: The Umbrella Chronicles.
Classic Game Room HD reviews NERF N-STRIKE ELITE for Nintendo Wii, a shooter on rails arcade style game played with a Nerf-gun packing group of teenagers. That's Nerf-tastic! Game comes packed with a Nerf blaster where the Nerf firing mechanism can be replaced by the Wii controller. Blaster has a flip-up piece of transparent red plastic that acts as the "Red Reveal" tech thing and highlights special areas on the screen to shoot.
House of the Dead 3 review. Classic Game Room presents a CGRundertow review of House of the Dead 3 for PlayStation 3. Motion controls have brought back the on-rail shooter genre, and with it, one of the best games in that genre. House of the Dead 3 features HD graphics, which is made possible because of the PS3. House of the Dead is an action shooter where you shoot through thousands of zombies. The game is different than other games in the genre because of the ability to reload without shooting off screen and the multiple paths you can take. And all of this controls amazingly with either the dualshock controller or the Playstation Move, making for one of the best zombie shooters available on the PSN. This video review features video gameplay footage of House of the Dead 3 for PlayStation 3 and audio commentary from Classic Game Room's Ryan.
Men In Black: Alien Crisis review. Classic Game Room presents a CGRundertow review of Men In Black: Alien Crisis from Fun Labs and Activision for the Nintendo Wii. Frankly, we don't even know what to say about this game. Based on the popular Men In Black movie franchise, Alien Crisis is an on-rails shooter...except for all those times when it isn't. You aim and shoot by pointing the Wii Remote, and that works fine. But the game moves you forward automatically, and then it stops. Then you're suddenly playing a duck-and-cover shooter that has no idea what that genre plays like. The sad thing is Derek was relieved when the game took control of his character for him, because doing it yourself is a nightmare. We kind of want our memories erased after this one. This video review features video gameplay footage of Men In Black: Alien Crisis for the Nintendo Wii and audio commentary from Classic Game Room's Derek.
Classic Game Room presents a CGRundertow video game review of Area 51 for the Sony PlayStation (also available for Sega Saturn & PC). This arcade classic released in 1995 features some intense on rails shooting action as you try to stop aliens and zombies from taking over the infamous military facility known as Area 51. Armed with a variety of weaponry and explosives, you'll have to be quick on your toes to stop their invasion! This review features Area 51 gameplay footage and commentary from CGRundertow reviewer Kevin.
ARC Squadron video review. Classic Game Room presents a CGRundertow video review of ARC Squadron from Psyonix Studios for the iPhone. ARC Squadron is a classically styled space shooter. It takes all the things that made those games great and modernizes them. You have on rails shooting, space ships, asteroids and barrel rolls, but also touch controls, customization and impressive modern technology. This is a showpiece game for Apple's platform. This video review features video gameplay footage of ARC Squadron for the iPhone and audio commentary from Classic Game Room's Derek.
Wild Adventures: Ultimate Deer Hunt 3D video review. Classic Game Room presents a CGRundertow video review of Wild Adventures: Ultimate Deer Hunt 3D, a downloadable game from eV Interactive on the eShop for the Nintendo 3DS. Wild Adventures is an on rails shooter that takes you on a hunting trip through more than a dozen locations, from forests and mountains to valleys and rivers, for an exhilarating on-rails protein harvest. It's not pretty, but the game does play well. Aiming with the stylus is always smooth and accurate. This video review features video gameplay footage of Wild Adventures: Ultimate Deer Hunt 3D for the Nintendo 3DS and audio commentary from Classic Game Room's Derek.
Burning Force video review. Classic Game Room presents a CGR Undertow video review of Burning Force from Namco for the SEGA Genesis. Burning Force is an on-rails arcade shooter that doesn't get off to a good start. Your coed is only doing this to graduate, and since it's 1990, you can't even see her cleavage. Fortunately, the game makes up ground in other areas. It's pretty much Space Harrier: The Tribute Album, as its heavily inspired by SEGA's groundbreaking shooter. Only not as good. This video review features video gameplay footage of Burning Force for the SEGA Genesis and audio commentary from Classic Game Room's Derek.
Heavy Fire: The Chosen Few review. Classic Game Room presents a CGR Undertow review of Heavy Fire: The Chosen Few for the Nintendo 3DS developed by Teyon and published by Mastiff. Heavy Fire: The Chosen Few is an on-rails shooter and the latest entry in the Heavy Fire series. It takes players through 13 levels of light-gun-style shooter gameplay, a throwback to the arcade golden days. There are 30 weapons in total, and they can be upgraded between levels. You can increase their capacity and reload time, as well as make repairs to the damage they take in combat. The Heavy Fire series has been plagued by poor controls in the past, but The Chosen Few plays much better than prior versions. It uses the touch screen for pixel-perfect aiming. This video review features video gameplay footage of Heavy Fire: The Chosen Few for the Nintendo 3DS and audio commentary from Classic Game Room's Derek.
AiRace Speed review. *******www.ClassicGameRoom**** Shop CGR shirts & mugs! *******www.CGRstore**** Classic Game Room presents a CGR Undertow review of AiRace Speed on the eShop for the Nintendo 3DS developed and published by QubicGames. With F-Zero and Star Fox on long sabbaticals, someone has to pick up the slack. QubicGames is up to the task with AiRace Speed, a downloadable 3DS game released in 2013. Mixing the speed and races of F-Zero with the on-rails flight of Star Fox, AiRace Speed is a racing game Nintendo fans should feel at home with. Players race five futuristic jets on 18 futuristic tracks...from the future. Each track harkens back to the tubes and cylinders of F-Zero GX, a dangerous mixture of insane speeds and tight corridors. Crashing adds devastating time penalties, and unfortunately, lots of shifting panels and dangerously placed columns make crashing an easy thing to do. Each level has three stars to earn, as well as online leaderboards to see how you stack up against other players. AiRace Speed is a single-player flight-based racing game. This video review features video gameplay footage of AiRace Speed on the eShop for the Nintendo 3DS and audio commentary from Classic Game Room's Derek.
