“The Warriors” (1979) is an American action/thriller film that was directed by Walter Hill and based on the 1965 novel “The Warriors” by Sol Yurick.
The Warriors is about a gang of the same name from Coney Island, NY gang who agree to meet with all the other gangs of New York in the north end of the Bronx for a type of peace treaty, as well as hear a message from a mega gang leader of the Gramercy Riffs, known as Cyrus. Cyrus wanted to combine all of NY City gang forces together in an effort to gain ultimate power. While Cyrus declares his intentions before the crowd, he is shot by a handgun. As Cyrus lay dying, a rival gang member shouts out that it was the Warriors who committed the murder. Now the Warriors must run from the North end of The Bronx back to their home turf on Coney Island and fighting unique rival gangs in each borough on their way back. Many of the fictional gangs are quite imaginative which lends a great deal to this film’s appeal.
When the film was being released violence and vandalism were being reported on, so Paramount Pictures temporarily halted their advertising for it and left it up to theater owner's discretion show the film. Despite its initially negative reception by come critics, it has since become a cult favorite.
The Warriors had a budget of 4 million dollars (US) and made ~22.5 million at the box office.
The film stars in part,
Michael Beck as Swan, Warlord of The Warriors
James Remar as Ajax
Brian Tyler as Snow
David Harris as Cochise
Tom McKitterick as Cowboy
Marcelino Sánchez as Rembrandt
Deborah Van Valkenburgh as Mercy

In baseball, a home run is a hit in which the batter is able to circle all the bases, ending at home plate and scoring a run himself (along with a run scored by each runner who was already on base), with no errors by the defensive team on the play which result in the batter advancing for extra bases. Today, the feat is typically achieved by hitting the ball over the outfield fence between the foul poles (or making contact with either foul pole) without first touching the ground, resulting in an automatic home run.Home runs are among the most popular aspects of baseball and, as a result, prolific home run hitters are usually the most popular among fans and consequently the highest paid by teams
