*******www.instablogs****/ Gaza truce After few days of the truce expire and following the crucial retaliation between Israel and Palestinian brigades in Gaza that was witnessed, Hamas accepted an Egyptian proposal to halt the launch of projectiles at Israeli targets for 24 hours, said party spokesperson Ayman Taha Monday evening. Sources in Gaza sent conflicting reports, some saying the decision to call the ceasefire was made late Sunday night, and others claiming it did not go into effect until five o'clock Monday evening. Monday afternoon reports of Palestinian projectiles launched at the Israeli Kissufim Military base in the southern Gaza Strip as well as Israeli airstrikes on Palestinian targets east of Gaza city put early announcements of the 24-hour truce in doubt. An Islamic Jihad leader said that he approved the 24-hour ceasefire for the sake of Gaza and people's lives. Kenya election violence President Kibaki and Prime Minister Raila Odinga have signed the agreement which starts the process of establishing a local tribunal to try post-election violence suspects. President Kibaki and Odinga managed to avoid having the suspects in Justice Waki's secret list tried by the International Criminal Court at The Hague. They now have 45 days to put in place all laws to set up the tribunal. When the tribunal is set up, Cabinet ministers named in Waki's envelope will be suspended immediately after they are charged. The President and the PM have committed themselves to setting up a tribunal to prosecute post-election violence suspects, instead of the list going to The Hague. US Congressman makes Hajj There was no press release when Keith Ellison made pilgrimage to Muslim city of Mecca last week. Dem playing his role as the first member of Congress to make the Hajj as the pilgrimage is known, Ellison called the experience transformative. Nevertheless trip attracted interest in the media and the blogosphere while some of the commentary has been positive Ellison has been taken to test for missing the house vote on Orobela for his native Detroit. His spokesman said that Ellison had not expected to lay in the recession the and made it that he made it told earlier to the house leaders of this plans. The trip also spoke of some anti-Muslim sentiments. Pakistan education system Our education system is in urgent need of reformation. The examination is all about cramming text and this does not allow a student to learn. It results in incompetent graduates who can neither become a good teacher nor a good leader. Due to this many Pakistani students are running away abroad to foreign countries spending millions of rupees on studies. We need to overhaul our education system and only then can our country make any progress. *******www.instablogs****/

We must act now, before the massacres continue! Over 200 people were killed in Gaza on Saturday, December 27 in a series of Israeli attacks - with US-made and paid for weaponry - upon the Palestinian people. These cold-blooded killings come on top of a siege on Gaza that has killed hundreds by depriving them of medical care, deprived Gazans of electricity, power and fuel and attempted to strangle the life of the Palestinian people in Gaza. The people of Gaza are standing steadfast in the face of these massacres but our voices must be heard to demand an immediate end to the massacres and an end to US aid to Israel! The Israeli military is promising more massacres - we must say no NOW!
