Cultural exchanges also helped build skills necessary for peacekeeping operations.
This year was the first use of the India Army field firing area in the Rajasthan desert for Yudh Abhyas. The training area provided the capability to conduct large-scale, complex bilateral drills with India Army forces in a challenging environment.
Bilateral training during Yudh Abhyas 2011-2012 built India and U.S. army combined staff readiness and cooperation. The exercise provided an opportunity for USARPAC Soldiers to train with their India Army counterparts to improve joint operation skills while building personal relationships.
