Hi everyone I'm Andrea Rene and you're watching the get the daily****. Last the 50th Annual Grammy Awards aired with much anticipation as it was suspected it might be the only big, ritzy awards show of the season due to the writer's strike. And glitzy it was! There were some standout performances by Alicia Keys and the Foo Fighters, but none quite as memorable as when pop superstar Beyonce took the stage with legendary crooner Tina Turner. Tina might be in the Senior's Club but she's still got the moves! They jammed out to the classic tune "Proud Mary" and I've got to tell you, if you missed it catch it on You Tube. Also worth watching is Kanye West's collaboration with Daft Punk for his hit stronger plus a tribute to his mother through his song "Hey Mama." While Kanye's performance was good, his acceptance speech for one of his four grammy wins, best rap album, was choice, his cockiness overshadowing the honor of the award, that's worth a Youtube look as well. And even though he scored 4 trophies he once again failed to clinch Record of the Year which went to, surprise, Herbie Hancock for his album "River: the Joni letters." Other noteable wins go to Amy Winehouse! She gave a great performance, which was a much needed comeback for the singer who couldn't attend the ceremony because she needed to go back to Rehab, ironically, and even better, she was the top earner of the night with 5 trophies, including record of the year for famous song "Rehab." Other winners include Rihanna, Justin Timberlake, Foo Fighters, and Vince Gill, who hilariously poked fun at Kanye during his acceptance speech. If you want a full listing of all the winners in the over 100 categories, head over to grammys****. For get the daily****, I'm Andrea Rene and thanks for making us your online source for news.

"Love Will Keep Us Together" is a popular song written by Neil Sedaka and Howard Greenfield in 1973. It was first released on Sedaka's 1974 LP "Sedaka's Back". Although Sedaka (and Wilson Pickett) recorded the song in the 1970s, it is best remembered for the subsequent 1975 cover version by Captain & Tennille. It was their debut single, reaching #1 on the Billboard Hot 100 for the week ending June 21, 1975 and remaining in the top position for four weeks, and was the top US single for the entire year. Their recording also received a Grammy Award for Record of the Year. Captain & Tennille acknowledged Sedaka's authorship as well as his early-1970s comeback by working the phrase "Sedaka is back" into the song's fadeout. The Spanish version of the song, "Por Amor Viviremos", was released as well during the summer of 1975 and charted as high as number 49 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart. The song was released as the only single from the LP "Por Amor Viviremos" which was the same LP as "Love Will Keep Us Together", only rerecorded entirely in Spanish. In 1983, The Circle Jerks covered "Love Will Keep Us Together" as one of the six cover versions on "Golden Shower of Hits (Jerks on 45)", which appears on their third album with the same title. The song was also covered by Nickelback in 2001 for the Andrew Denton Breakfast Show Musical Challenge on Sydney, Australia's version of radio station Triple M, and was later added as a bonus track on some versions of their 2003 album The Long Road. The title of Joy Division's "Love Will Tear Us Apart" is considered a reference to the song. The song was featured on the video game Karaoke Revolution Presents: American Idol. The song was also featured as the opening of film 'Get Over It' starring Kirsten Dunst. It also appears in Starsky and Hutch (2004) and Sextette (1978). The song featured in the pilot episode of the show Arrested Development. The TV series Lost also featured the song in the episode titled Some Like It Hoth from the show's 5th season...pls. enjoy!!!

SELAH has officially arrived with the strong debut WOMAN'S WORLD. Featuring a little help from SADIE AMA, MZ BRATT and DUCHESS making a collaboration of devastating proportion! WOMAN'S WORLD has been described by fans as a ‘female anthem’ due to the catchy and concise chorus and has gained quick initial radio support across networks championed by DJ TARGET at 1xtra, while also receiving plays from MAX, MISTAJAM, TWIN B, RAS KWAME (RADIO ONE), WOODY & FIRIN SQUAD (CHOICE FM), SWERVE & MANNY NORTE (KISS) alongside regional and pirate support too. The track has proved so popular that it’s already on the B-List at 1xtra. At the age of 22 SELAH has already achieved a great deal, from performing backing vocals for MS DYNAMITE at the BRIT AWARDS as well as providing vocals for her sophomore album, to supporting MISSY ELLIOT, being hand-picked by chart-topper LEMAR to perform at BBC’s MAIDA VALE studio as part of a 1XTRA SPECIAL, her star is well and truly in ascendance. Having already achieved RADIO 1 daytime support as featured vocalist on the BLAME single BECAUSE OF YOU claiming SINGLE OF THE WEEK on SARA COX’S show whilst ZANE LOWE dubbed it HOTTEST RECORD OF THE YEAR. Also featured on Woman’s World are SADIE AMA, MZ BRATZ and DUCHESS, each highly talented female artists in their own right, making this single absolute dynamite. Production comes courtesy of DAVINCHE, always on hand to deliver a record with impact. Known for his smooth but gritty street sound, the horns once again lead the way and provide space for some dynamic vocal arrangements. The video for the song has been shot and already features regularly on CHANNEL AKA with more stations ready to follow. The concept for the video sees the director placing each girl performing in a different season, showing strong visuals, individualism and unity at the same time.

BY ERIK SHUTE AND HARUMENDHAH HELMY You're watching multisource headline news analysis from Newsy This is Newsy Now, and here are the headlines you need to know. In U.S. news — President Barack Obama is set to unveil a budget proposal for the 2012 fiscal year today. Los Angeles Times says the budget includes spending cuts in popular programs such as airport grants, but also proposes increase in some education sections. This plan is $90 billion smaller than last year and aims to cut $1.1 trillion from the deficit over the next 10 years. Next, to world news. Protests in Egypt continue — this time, the demand is better pay. The media report while some workers are still on strike throughout the country, some, including police officers, also protested in Tahrir Square. BBC reports this was only hours after the military cleared finally cleared the square for the first time in more than 20 days. Meanwhile, the spirit of revolution seems to have spread in the Middle East and North Africa. Algeria, Yemen, Bahrain and Jordan witnessed new protests and clashes over the weekend, while Iran gears up for its first demonstrations in a year. (Video: Al Jazeera) In business news — China has officially overtaken Japan as the world’s second largest economy, and the credit goes to the nation’s booming manufacturing industry. Bloomberg has the video. “This traffic jam of trucks on a major highway in Northern China is emblematic of China’s rapid economic success. The GDP here grew 10.3 percent last year, the fastest pace in three years. Combined that with Japan’s contraction and it’s official: China is now the world’s second largest economy." In the tech blogosphere -- Apple is shrinking the iPhone. A well-timed leak rumored the Silicon Valley company was preparing to launch a smaller iPhone Nano this summer -- in an attempt to overhaul its mobile market. The Wall Street Journal reports the new line of fun-sized iPhones would sell along side their big brother for half the cost -- or no cost at all. A source tells the Wall Street Journal carriers of the new phone could subsidize the entire price of the smartphone with standard contracts. Apple’s mobile platform already accounts for 39% of the company’s yearly revenue. In entertainment -- The 53rd Grammy Award delivered a night of unusual upsets, underdogs wins, and Lady Gaga in an egg. Indie rock band Arcade Fire accepted the Album of the Year award for “Suburbs”, Country trio Lady Antebellum took home Record of the Year and Song of the Year, while indie jazz sensation Esperanza Spaulding shoved Justin Bieber aside to win best new artist. Slate Magazine says the Bieber following was outraged, but if he can survive puberty -- he’ll pull through. The best entrance went to the never-disappointing Lady Gaga who arrived on the red carpet in a semi-transparent egg carried by 5 half dressed ushers. Through the years the Grammy Academy has developed a notoriety for not buying into the pop-star hype -- and last night was no exception.
